There have never been better
tools available to small business
owners for getting their business
message out. In the past all you
really had was a business card
and a yellow pages ad, short of
an expensive advertising effort
like radio or TV.
Now you have Twitter, Face-
book, YouTube, Linkedin,
Craigslist & inexpensive web-
sites. Those new free social me-
dia tools can be combined with
ever more cost effective means
such as reflective logos & wraps
on company vehicles, high qual-
ity, breathable uniforms & embroi-
dered garments. All of these
tools allow you to create a full
onslaught of imaging and mes-
sage push without draining your
cashflow.
The social media tools are so
much easier to make use of now
that there are such great mobile
devices available that allow you
to put your content up at differ-
ent free moments in your day.
Now you can put a quick mes-
sage and picture on Twitter
while waiting for your kids at the
pool. You can take a quick
video of your crew working on a
particularly good work day &
post it to YouTube for anyone to
stumble on & see how great
your team and company are.
Imagine how much better that
video would look if the crew was
clean, well groomed & wearing
well branded uniform shirts,
reinforcing your branding. Con-
sider the power of your client’s
well manicured yard drawing a
neighbor in, while your team is
in the back, & that neighbor
being able to see your com-
pany name, number, website
etc on the truck on the street.
If your business is a smaller
one, do not act small in your
branding & imagery. Be
large in presence. Be known,
be seen, be easier to find, be
easy to know. It does not
need to cost a lot, but it can
pay a ton!
