Increasing capacity, reducing cost and improving customer service are key issues for supply chain and freight transport. These objectives can be contradictory and finding the right balance within a complex system is extremely difficult. This half-day workshop will introduce you to science-based approaches to optimising your supply chain, including:

Alan Dormer and his team of researchers work on projects in a number of vertical sectors in the services economy, including transport, logistics and infrastructure. Alan has been working in the area of optimisation, information systems and performance monitoring for over 20 years and has experience in the process industries, manufacturing, energy and financial services as well as transport and logistics. He has worked in UK, US, Japan and Australia, providing optimization technology and solutions to organisations such as Shell, BP, FedEx, Amazon, Hertz, Japan Railways, Qantas, Malaysian Airlines, RailCorp and Queensland Rail.
