Letter of appreciation received from Rebecca Shelton Transitional Nurse and some of the transitional patients who attended !
Dear West Riding KPA, On behalf of myself and the young adult group, I would like to say a huge thank you for your very generous contribution towards our return transport for the Climbing Out trip.
The young adults had an amazing time and the Climbing Out team did a fantastic job of facilitating the week.
The group got to enjoy a jam packed week of activities including, kayaking, rock climbing, abseiling, coast steering, hill walking and some even conquered one of the highest mountains in the region! It was incredible to see the young people grow in confidence over the week and achieve things they never thought was possible. They certainly done Leeds proud and their sense of fun, team work and camaraderie made for a great week where friendships were built and future goals set.
I made sure to let everybody know the funding came from the KPA and the young people were very grateful. They have asked that I share a few of their experiences and appreciation with you;
“I would like to thank the KPA very much as I would not have made it to Wales without the organised coach….and the week is one I will never forget. I’ve met amazing people and friends for the future; I’ve got new confidence and want to do more things in life”.
“Having funded travel to Climbing Out made me feel special and cared about….thank you to the KPA”.
“This is the first time in 2 years I’ve had a break from my dialysis unit, I am really grateful for this opportunity, the week has meant so much to me”.
Many thanks once again,
Rebecca.

FUNDRAISING
Caraline Bytheway, a PKD patient is a qualified Insolvency Practitioner who
took on the position of Chair of the R3 Ladies Committee in February 2018.
R3 is the trade association for the UK’s insolvency, restructuring, advisory,
and turnaround professionals. They represent insolvency practitioners,
lawyers, turnaround and restructuring experts, students, and others in the
profession. As Chair of the Committee, I organise, with the help of the
committee, an annual Ladies Lunch, and we always select a charity to be a
beneficiary of the funds we raise. This year I put forward KPA.
The event took place at the Aspire in Leeds. Business professionals from the
industry took part in a charity prize draw and we raised the money from that.
We also promoted organ donation overall.
Below are pictures of the event where they raised an excellent £1,332.50.
Thanks go to Caraline and all those who supported her for organising and
raising a fantastic amount.

her mum Sue many more years of a dialysis free life.
The KPA thanks everyone who, no matter how large or small, donates and helps towards the work we do!
