Wilton Engineering Services Ltd (WESL) was established in 1994 providing

quality fabrication and site services for the Offshore and Petrochemical

Industries.

WESL was strengthened in 1999 with the formation of our shotblasting and

coatings division, Universal Coatings Limited, providing quality shop and site

painting services, both in-house and to a wider client base.

In 2000 WESL added to its fabrication capabilities with the formation of

Wilton Marine Services. Providing quality fabrication, site services, and vessel

mobilisations to the Subsea and Marine Industries.

WESL was further strengthened in 2006 with the purchase of an impressive

fabrication and painting facility at Port Clarence Offshore Base. This facility

has large undercover fabrication and painting halls, external fabrication

capability and quayside frontage.

2008 saw the acquisition of PD&MS Energy in Aberdeen expanding our

project management and design capabilities.

In 2010 The Wilton Group was established to harnass the three group

companies strengths by providing a complete service from project

management, design, procurement, fabrication, commissioning, testing,

loadout through to delivery and installation.

Quality, Health,Safety andEnvironmentOur company policy is to develop, document and maintain an effective quality

management system, thus ensuring that all projects conform to the clients

specified contractual requirements.

Wilton Group operates a quality management system that is set up and certified

by Lloyds Register in accordance with BSEN ISO 9001:2008.

It is our company policy to provide and maintain a safe place of work for all our

employees and visitors. Our management are committed to allocating the

necessary resources to ensure that these objectives are met. To this end our safe

working practices and procedures are documented and maintained within a QHSE

manual. Our Health and Safety Management System is based upon the

requirements of OHSAS 18001:2007.

It is the company’s policy to respect and care for the environment and comply with

current legislation, regulations and other applicable requirements.

Wilton Group operates an Environmental Management System based upon the

requirements of BSEN ISO 14001:2004.

Locationand Facilities

Fabrication Assembly HallsThe base houses four fabricationassembly halls each 64.5m x 33m x26m to underside of the doorportals. Each hall is equipped with2x 30T overhead cranes.

Full height doors in the river gableend allow movement of completedstructures onto the fit out apronsand to the load out quay's.

Quay'sLoad out quay's serve the full riverfrontage of the four assembly hallsand the mooring facility extends tothe downstream boundary of thesite, giving a total berth of 235metres. The angle quay providesroll-on and roll-off facilities.

Paint FacilityThe 60,000 sq ft paint facility isequipped with 2x 10T overheadcranes and extensive blasting andpainting equipment. The large blastpen (40m x 18m) is capable ofhandling complete fabrications anddeck sections.

Stores / StorageA single storey insulated storesbuilding (22,000 sq ft) is equipped toservice permanent materials andvendor supplies. In addition we haveextensive internal and externalstorage areas within the 50 acre site.

OfficesThe base has extensive officefacilities for Wilton Group staff andadditional office accommodation forour clients.

Design andConsultancy

Wilton Engineering has a comprehensive arrayof experience and capabilities that enable us toprovide robust client tailored solutions.

Wilton Engineering has the engineering expertise and a widerange of technical abilities to enable delivery of projects fromconcept development through to detailed engineeringdesign/analysis, producing bespoke mechanical and structuralequipment for use in the offshore and marine environment.

The company employs a multi-disciplined team withmechanical and structural engineers and associateddraftsmen. The team is highly capable of developing andanalysing a range of custom multidiscipline solutions, whichincorporate a range of engineering skills from mechanical andstructural through to hydraulic and control systems all for theoffshore industry and complimented by project managementand manufacturing support.

Software / IT

Wilton Engineering embraces the use of the latest software to enhance theengineering, design & analytical capabilities of the team. The following softwarepackages are typically used within the department:

Standard Packages• MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio• Scheduling - MS Project• MathCAD

2D Drafting - AutoCAD 2012 and LT2012 Two dimensional draughting for general arrangement layouts and vessel interfacedrawings are undertaken in AutoCAD (2012 version) as per our clientsrequirements.

3D Modelling and 2D Drafting - Autodesk Inventor 2012Advanced design packages are used for design development and drafting, theprimary system used is Autodesk’s Inventor (3D) 2012 version.

Analysis Packages

Together with hand calculations supported by specially designed spreadsheets,Wilton Engineering Services Ltd uses a wide range of computer basedmathematical analysis methods such as MATHCAD. 3-D Structural Analysis andFinite Element Analysis are also extensively employed by expert users asillustrated below;

3D Structural Analysis with STAAD.ProWilton has the experience and skill to apply industry standard structural analysissoftware STAAD.Pro to the analysis of complex structures including assessmentto structural codes. This enables an efficient and rapid evaluation of possiblesolutions to progress design details.

Finite Element AnalysisWilton Engineering has the latest analysis software in which to solve complexproblems including dynamic, multi-body or non-linear problems. The FE packagesANSYS & Algor are typically used at Wilton by experienced FE analysts / engineers.
