Wes Wagner• His previous occupation was a Systems Administrator
and has worked in the IT business for over 10 years. • Attended Miami University and Portland State
University. • Lived in Oregon during his childhood and attended
Oregon public schools. • Member of PNDSA (Pacific Northwest Direct Seed
Association).
Stances on Issues
• Economic development– By eliminating the business income tax in state, we
attract new businesses to come to Oregon. – We should maintain and take care of
infrastructure.

• Balancing the state budget– We should stop borrowing money from other
states.– We should stop radical cuts, especially in schools.

• Tax reform– Property tax is not a good source of revenue.– By funding large projects, we are continuing
today’s behaviors.

• Schools– Reduce administrative and non-teacher staff by 75% and
use the excess funds to hire more teachers.– Give districts the power to make their own standards and
give teachers the power to form their own governing structures that determine their curriculum and teaching process. Successful standards and curriculum can be shared to other districts to improve our state’s educational system.
