MECHANIC WANTEDTama County is seeking to hire a Mechanic for the Secondary Road Department. This person would be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems on light and heavy duty gasoline and diesel power driven highway construction and maintenance equipment.
The mechanic works primarily at the County Maintenance facility north of Toledo. While most of the work is performed inside the shop area, repairs are made in the field when necessary and field work is performed during all types of weather. The position involves considerable physical activity with exposure to safety hazards normally associated with repair work accomplished on light and heavy duty equipment.
Applicants will be required to obtain a CDL. Pre-employment and random drug screening is required.
The starting wage is $22.14.

Tama County Website. Applications must be returned to the Tama County Highway Department via email at

Tama County is seeking qualified candidates for a Safety Manager. This position includes inspecting work
areas, equipment, and ensures compliance with state, and federal policies and regulation. Documenting of safety inspections, maintains safety equipment, applies safety
policies and procedure and administers employee safety training. Maintains files and records including SDS and
other paperwork for compliance.
Associate’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a closely related field or equivalent combination of education and experience of professional training development
and delivery in a technical or industrial setting. Certified safety and health official general industry (CSHO-G) and/or OSHA 30-hour general industry or construction course
preferred or must be able to obtain within a timeframe established by the employer.
Applicants must have a valid driver’s license. Salary range based on experience is $50,000 - $60,000.
