A motion to approve the minutes from the March 1, 2018 Wellhead Protection Committee meeting.
MINUTES WELLHEAD PROTECTION COMMITTEE
MARCH 1, 2017
Vice Chairperson, Bob Brauchler called the meeting to order at 3:15 p.m. Members present were Jay Thompson, Jeff Sawatsky, and Bill Virant. Advisory members present were Chuck DeWolf, City Engineer; Katie Breth, SWCD; and Ron Mergen, Public Works Director. Absent were Chris Lundeen, John VanderBeek, Neil Herzberg, Dave Neiman, and Karen Voz.
Motion was made by Virant to approve the minutes from the February 17, 2016 Wellhead Protection Committee meeting. Seconded by Sawatsky and unanimously carried.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Motion was made by Sawatsky to elect the following officers: Chairperson - Herzberg Vice Chair - Brauchler Secretary - Mergen Seconded by Virant and unanimously carried.
MEETINGS
Meetings will continue to be held on an as needed basis.
PAYNESVILLE WELLHEAD 2017 WATER FESTIVAL
The Water Festival will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017. The Task List was reviewed and the date, location, and presenters were confirmed. The trees have been ordered. Breth agreed to work with Mergen on reviewing the packet information. It was also noted that the Koronis Lake Association will provide water bottles and will utilize the t-shirt logo. Sawatsky will work on providing the logo. The schedule will start at 8:30 a.m. with a tour of the Paynesville Wastewater Treatment Facility and the sessions will be as follows:

Grant Information· Members discussed the grant activities: 1. Identifying and sealing of unused wells - estimated 5 wells 2. Supporting the local water festival along with funding for the Science Museum 3. Providing an education newsletter on proper management of potential contaminant sources

Dewolf reported that the construction is nearing completion and the tower will likely be on line in late April or May. Members are welcome to tour the facility.
