Hi … Year 3!
We hope you all had a lovely Easter and that you are all safe and
well (and your families and loved ones are too).
Did you manage to eat some Easter Eggs? We would love to see some pictures
of you eating them…if you have any left!
Below we have put together a timetable. But you can do the activities in any
order on any days…swap them around if you want depending on the weather and
what you fancy doing at home.
We are hoping to see some of your work on the school website…look out for
this…you can see what your friends have been doing too.
We miss you all and hope to see you very, very soon x

Maths
There are lots of extra Maths Tasks online. We haven’t taught Fractions yet…so this will be new to
the Year 3s but if you are keen to have a go at something new then Start on Week 1 of the following
activities. There is an explanation and then some work to complete- https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-3/
Maths Task A
This week we would like the children to start having a look at some time work!
Go to this website - https://go.educationcity.com/home
The children should have come home with a log in – but you can email us if they have lost
those details. Log on and you should see some work set for your class to revise Time.
Go to Maths – Year 3 – Activity - 6 Measurement – In Safe Hands
Play the video and complete the activity as you go along! There is a worksheet to do – if you have a
printer…and the answers are there too!
NOTE – if your child has forgotten about ‘time’ – which they may have done – go back through all of
the activities in the Year 1 and 2 activities – Snoozy Time/Wakey, Wakey/ Hour Hero
This week you could practice telling the time throughout the week – ask the children to make a clock –
add card hands and move them to make different times. Lots of practice will really help our Year 3s!

Science A- Light and Shadows
Watch this video about making shadows…
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/z6fnvcw
Talk about shadows!
Open the following link (Use Internet Explorer – not Chrome!) and find the one called Light and
Shadows.
http://www.crickweb.co.uk/ks2science.html
It looks at how to make shadows bigger and smaller in the first part of the game.
Then you change objects outside and move the sun so they can see how the shadows change length
throughout the day.
Then, on a sunny day, look for objects that make shadows in your garden or house. Eg tree/ climbing
frame. If the children want to, they can keep a simple shadow diary looking at how the shadows
change length during the day.
We Are Learning How shadows change length during the day.
Time of day Length of shadow
9 o’clock
Very long
Could you measure the length?
What did you notice about the length of the shadows during the day?
