    Pipeline welding of CRA clad pipesLocation: Habshan, Abu Dhabi

    Welding of CRA clad steels may be performed in one of two sequences.

    When the back side of the weld is accessible, a carbon steel to carbon

    steel weld shall be made first with carbon steel weld materials. Then theback side of the weld shall be weld overlayed with Corrosion ResistantAlloy in compliance with Weld Overlay Specification RP-710-95-003.

    When the back side of the weld is inaccessible, the entire weld shall bemade from one side using weld materials of UNS N06625 composition

    such as ERNiCrMo-3 and ENiCrMo-3 welding materials. When the backside of the weld is inaccessible, the root pass shall be made with the GasTungsten Arc welding process including back purging with inert gas.Back purging shall be maintained through completion of the root passand hot pass or until 6 mm weld thickness is deposited, whichever isgreater.

    Hardness for Carbon steel : 248 HV 10.Average length: 12M long; beveled to 30 deg -0 deg and +5 deg.Manufactured as per API 5LD 2nd edition, 1998., SAW Line pipe.
