1. In RPS205 the grading scale is 90% - A 80% - B 70% - C 60% - D Below 60% - F

75% summative assessments 40% 1st quarter grade

25% formative assessments 75% summative assessments 2. semester grade 40% 2nd quarter grade 25% formative assessments

20% final exam

• Formative assessments are grades collected while you are learning. The scores will include in-class assignments, homework, most labs, most quizzes, and some projects. These activities let you practice what you are learning. They also let us know that you understand or need more practice before the summative assessments are given. Please note: any graded work can be corrected and returned for full credit before the topic test. You can correct your work once to get full credit before the quiz or test.

Your homework and classroom work can raise or drop your grade by a full letter!

• Summative assessments are grades collected after we have covered and reviewed the material. The scores will include chapter tests, lab practicals, some quizzes, and some projects. This work shows what you have learned. NOTE: retaking tests is not a normal option for these classes and will be considered only on a case-by-case basis.

The tests, quizzes, and projects make up MOST of your grade.

3. Extra credit work will not be created to help your grades.
