  • about twin laKes church

Twin Lakes Church was founded back in 1890, and has the same mission today as always: To share the good news of Jesus Christ — through word and deed — with Santa Cruz County and beyond! What people experience during the Twin Lakes Church worship services is just the beginning of TLC’s ministry to the community…

    love in action

We believe in showing Christ’s love in practical ways. For example, our People’s Pantry distributes free groceries each week. homeaid helps the widowed and physically limited through home fix-it projects. share his Care mobilizes volunteers to help people with debilitating afflictions. sonshine ministry brings meals to convalescing people. mom’s angels is our car repair ministry for widows and single mothers. And stephen ministry assists with hospital and home visits. To volunteer for any of these ministries, please contact [email protected] or 831-465-3368.

    giving back

Twin Lakes Church is pleased to partner with second harvest food Bank, the salvation army, Prison fellowship, and Bridge of hope as we give back to our community during the holidays.

For our November food drive, the church raised enough food and cash in just three weeks to feed half a million people! Thanks to everyone for your amazing support.

During our December angel tree project, the church donated hundreds of toys and other gifts to needy children and nursing home residents. Again, thanks for your generosity.

TLC also supports local and global outreach throughout the year. Through our own ministries, and through partners like little flock Children’s home, the poor are fed, orphans are loved, the sick are cared for, and churches are built all year round.

    support groups

TLC offers specialized support groups for people with addictions, cancer, anxiety, HIV/AIDS, chronic pain, those who are grieving, and more. For more information, please contact [email protected] or 831-465-3313.

  • world outreach

TLC supports 25 missionaries and several mission agencies all over the globe engaged in church planting, Bible translation, HIV/AIDS victim support, disaster relief, medical outreaches, school development, and much more.

  • why celebrate christmas?

Our entire concert — the songs we sing, the imagery you see, the message you hear — is a celebration of the most amazing event in history:

    a baby boy was born.

But this wasn’t any ordinary birth. Foretold centuries before, a son was miraculously born to a virgin. The heavens resounded with the song of angels. A star shone above his birthplace, leading men to worship him. This was truly a birthday like none other.

But the story started before this.

People were created by God to live in perfect union with him. Yet despite all they were given, they deliberately disobeyed God, causing a catastrophic separation of the intimacy they had enjoyed with him. The consequences of their disobedience corrupted everything they had. Pain, suffering, and disease ensued, and eventually, death. And these consequences have stretched across time, even to our world today.

god’s love, however, was greater than they could possibly imagine.

God is good. He is love. And although by his own nature he is just, he is also merciful.

and so Jesus Christ was born: fully human, fully divine.

“Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave; and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.” philippians 2:6,7

There was only one way to reconcile what had been broken. And so God became human — divinity and humanity at once — to take on himself the punishment we deserved.

    his gift is for you.

This Christmas, you can truly celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ because it is the evidence of God’s perfect love for you. Forgiveness, reconciliation, healing, and above all, love: These are the gifts God offers to you.

no matter who you are, Jesus has provided you a gift greater than any you will ever receive: himself.

    merry christmas!
