Answers:

1. Daily spelling from Mrs. Newbrey (10 minutes) 2. Daily math homework (at least 90% of the days,

Monday through Thursday). See my website. All of my emails have the website on the signature line. This should take anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes to do, depending on the student. It shouldn’t ever go over 60 minutes, due to my multitude of emails explaining that I want students to do no more than 60 minutes. Write a note on the homework, stating that your child put forth good effort for 60 minutes. Yes, it’s hard math. That’s the world we live in; the standards are increasing, pretty much every year.

Homework :

Discuss appropriate voice levels with your child. 2/3 of the kids know it and do it very well. That leaves 1/3 that need to work on it. If you didn’t receive an email stating that your child is a great listener (about two weeks ago), your child may be one of the students who is too loud/interrupts learning.

Check my website, “events” tab for due dates on assignments, tests, quizzes, field trips, paperwork, homework, etc. See if your child is actually using their planner. The homework should be written in it.

The best way for you to help your child succeed:

1. Finish late work, such as homework. 2. SSR 3. Bonus/Extra Credit work (see tray up

front) 4. Study for a test or quiz.

Don’t.… socialize, make noise, disrupt learning. Thank you.

What to do when you’re done early.
