Welcome Visitors & Newcomers A warm welcome to visitors & newcomers! It is great to have you worship with us today. Please complete the information in the black welcome pads as they are passed and then pass it to your neighbor. Please take a welcome packet from the tables at the entrance. At New Life we host an open table for Holy Communion. All are welcome to receive this free gift of God’s grace. We believe Jesus is ‘really present’ in, with and under the bread and wine. Even though the bread and wine do not change in physical form, Jesus presence in, with and under the bread and wine makes this much more than a remembrance or symbol of God’s love. Because of Christ’s presence we also believe the real effects or benefits of this meal are; the forgiveness of sin, life with God here and the promise of life with God to come. Children are welcome to come forward for a blessing. First communion instruction is scheduled before Holy Week for 2nd grade students. Gluten free wafers are also available for those that prefer that option. Note: The wine is red and the grape juice is white. The nursery is staffed during worship and is located south of the worship space. New GIG Bible StudyA common question of many Christians is, "How can I know when God is speaking to me?" Join us as we study "He Speaks to Me" by Priscilla Shirer. Upcoming sessions are scheduled for 8/28, 9/11, 9/25, 10/9, 10/23, and 11/13 at 6:30 pm here at church. Please contact Kari Murray ([email protected]) with questions.

Debt Free VisioningFriends, we are almost debt free! The past presidents of the congregational council will present a plan forward after we pay off our mortgage. Lot’s of exciting ministry can and will be happening. Plan to attend a presentation from the past council presidents following worship next Sunday, August 25, and bring your favorite salad to share at our SALAD SOCIAL that Sunday as well.

New Member Pot LuckOver the past several months we have seen a lot of new faces that have chosen to become part of this congregation. We would like to invite everyone who has become a member in the past year to share in a ‘get acquainted’ pot luck dinner with council this evening at 5:30.

BE THE LIGHTOur BE THE LIGHT campaign is hoping to raise $5,000 in July and August which will reduce our energy consumption, increase building safety and make some needed updates.  Giving envelopes are available in the back of the worship area For every $100 received we will light one bulb to help brighten our church and the world. Thank You for your support!

Inspire Our SchoolsOn Sunday, August 18 @ 7 pm you are invited to join members of the community at any one of the schools in Norwalk for a non-denominational Christian gathering of prayer & blessing over our schools.

Camp Fire and Kick BallAll confirmation students are invited to begin our year together on Wednesday, August 28 at 7 pm. We’ll make s’mores over the camp fire and play a pretty epic game of “backwards kick ball.” All 6th-8th grade students are invited to attend.

Grief ShareNew Life will again be forming a Grief Share group led by Lisa Smith.  The first session will meet tomorrow evening at 6:30 pm and continue through November 18. For more information on this ministry link to newlifenorwalk.org.

Blessing of the BackpacksToday we will celebrate a Blessing of the Backpacks at the close of each service. Anyone headed back to school is invited and encouraged to bring their Backpack to receive a blessing for a safe and productive school year.

Noisy Offering UpdateDuring the month of July our Noisy Offering was designated for Robin's Nest Children's Home in Jamaica, we collected $75. Thank You for your support! The August offering will be given to the Save a Warrior Foundation. Save A Warrior is a support group for active duty military, returning veterans and first responders, providing counseling services in the fields of mental health and wellness, suicide prevention and post-traumatic stress.

Splash Back into Journey Sunday SchoolNext Sunday, following our Salad Social, all Sunday School age kids (pre-K thru 5th) and their parents are invited to join in for a Splash Back into Journey Sunday School event. We will have some fun games (some involving water!), treats, and forms for parents to register their children for Sunday School. We will resume regular classes at 9:30 on September 8.
