Others

or

DO YOU LOVE THE LORD? DO YOU LOVE YOUR CHURCH?

If you love Him, why not serve Him...

in your church.

We were saved to serve the Lord.

Serve Him by serving others.

We were saved to be His witness; to show and share Christ’s love and teachings

to others.

Are you a covenant member of Tabernacle?

In John 13:14-17 NIV Jesus said,

“Now that I, your Lord and

Teacher, have washed your feet,

you also should wash one

another’s feet.” (Meaning; serve

one another). “I have set you an

example that you should do as I

have done for you. Now that

you know these things, you will

be blessed if you do them

(meaning if you serve others).”

OUR GOAL IS TO GET EVERY MEMBER TO SERVE

6 or 12 TIMES A YEAR IN A MINISTRY OF SERVICE. You can be a faithful servant all year long, just by serving 6 or 12 times a

year. You can serve in most Tabernacle ministries faithfully for just a one year term which comes to only serving just 6 or 12 Sundays in a year.

Please pray for the needs of the following ministries that are looking for more volunteer willing servants like yourself and contact the Ministry Leader today:

1. Nursery Ministry – Rosemary Bradwell, Ministry Leader

2. Usher Ministry – Angela Hicks, Ministry Leaders

3. Media Ministry – Marvin & Shirley Johnson, Ministry Leader

4. Praise Team Ministry – Micheal Mitchner, Ministry Leader

5. Youth Church – Kenneth Baldwin, Ministry Leader

6. Youth Choir Ministry – Micheal Mitchner, Ministry Leader

7. Culinary Ministry – Kelvin Deary, Ministry Leader

8. Food Serving Host Ministry – Jacque’ Mobley, Ministry Leader

When it comes to ministry work being done …MANY HANDS MAKE THE WORK LIGHT - FOR ALL.

Get CONNECTED, Get COMMITTED, Get TRAINED,

Get SCHEDULED, And Get To SERVING

7 Things You Should Know

about Youth Ministry

1. If you aren’t engaging parents, you’re

wasting your time. Effective youth ministry means

investing both in students and in parents.

2. Trying to beat the world at its own game

is a losing battle. The church will never be nearly as

entertaining as Netflix, PlayStation, iPhones, sports, keg parties, etc. will beat the church every time. We can dominate the world in the realm of meaning, purpose, hope, peace, joy, and love in Christ, and should make those principles the attraction of our ministries.

3. Young people are not stupid. Youth are

capable of learning theology and biblical studies like adults. Churches should not shy away from challenging kids to grow in their knowledge of God’s word and truth.

4. You must enable young people to

accurately define the gospel. They must

understand that Christianity revolves around God’s work to redeem and reconcile sinners to himself through the life, death, and resurrection of Christ. Clarity on the gospel is the single strongest predictor of whether a youth will stick with Christianity or not down the road.

5. Youth are more into a sincere person

than a fun person. Many people think that an effective

youth minister or volunteer needs to an energetic, “super fun” pied piper. In reality, kids trust, are attracted to, and listen to a person who is sincere.

6. Young people can be equipped to serve

the church now. Our job is to equip them to “do the

work of ministry” right now in the context of the wider local church body (see Ephesians 4:13). Young people have much to offer to the church right now in ministry and service.

7. You may not be the one to reap the

harvest . . . and that’s OK! “I planted, Apollos

watered, but God gave the growth,” says the Paul in 1 Corinthians 3:6. We may not always get to see the fruit of our labor with the you, yet we are called to be faithful to bear witness to him no matter who plants, who waters, and who gets to reap the harvest!

8 Things Every Christian Teenager Should Do

1. Obey God You were created by God to live for Him (Colossians 1:16). You’ll only be happy if you do so. At this stage, you’re probably starting to experience peer pressure to sin in some way (e.g., drinking alcohol, premarital sex, etc). Don’t give in. It’s not worth it. 2. Obey your parents Show your parents respect, obedience, and thankfulness, and to render to them every service possible. For it is the Lord’s will that we should act like this to those who have given us life. While we may sometimes disagree with our parents, we often later regret it when we disobey them. 3. Obey the authorities Paul says, “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities” (Romans 13:1). Paul then calls the authorities as “God’s servant” and “ministers of God” (v.4, v.6). God wants you to respect and obey them. 4. Get plugged into the local church God’s plan A is the church, and there’s no plan B. Invite your friends to youth group. Get involved right now. Give your life, time, and energy to God’s bride. 5. Develop a devotional life Do things in private to grow in godliness. Focus in on Bible reading and prayer (but journaling, worship, scripture memorization, and other disciplines are helpful too). Read the Gospels over and over again it will change your life. 6. You probably shouldn’t be dating anyone Definitely not in junior high, and probably not in high school. Got a girl or guy you’re eyeing at school? Cool. Tell your parents, tell your youth group leader, pray, and then proceed with great caution.. 7. Re-Think Your Social Media Habits The validation that you’re looking for, you already have in Christ. Have fun on social media. But don’t let it consume you. And be sure to follow people that edify you and glorify God. 8. Get a job (if you can) If you are 14 or 15 or older, start looking now. If possible, get a job. You will learn new skills in communication, social interaction, interpersonal awareness, and finance. A job will help develop your character, confidence and self-esteem.
