Welcome to Your Creative Care Pack! Keep Calm - Keep Creative - Keep In Touch Hello, Many of us have been staying safely at home for over a month now, and we hope you have begun to find ways to keep yourself well in isolation. In this second pack we have more games, puzzles and colouring, as well as some store cupboard recipe ideas. We also have a digital documentation project that we would love you to take part in, details of which can be found in this pack. If you want even more creative inspiration, we really recommend checking out ‘Grayson’s Art Club’ on Channel 4, Mondays 8pm. It is also available on catch up and we would recommend you send your artworks in to be featured on the show! Remember we are all in this together, even if we are physically apart. We hope that you are finding your community can help support you through this time, and remember that it’s ok to ask for help, and important to stay in touch, now more than ever. Thank you to everyone who has given us feedback so far on this pack, please let us know if you have any other activities you would like us to include. Hello,

Many of us have been staying safely at home for over a month now, and we hope you have begun to find ways to keep yourself well in isolation.

Get Involved In Our Documentation Project

We are living through a unique time in human history...and all of us are experiencing life in an unusual way at the moment. We want to make sure that we document this time, so that we can share our experiences together when this is all over, as well as with generations to come.

So we are proposing a documentation project, and would love for you to take part!

There are a number of different ways to join in, which hopefully will give everyone an opportunity to take part, regardless of the technology you have at home.

1) Send us a photograph or a video of yourself on your phone or tablet showing us what you have been getting up to during the lockdown. For example, you may choose to send a video of you baking a delicious cake, a picture of you reading your favourite book, doing a workout at home or simply popping your feet up to watch the telly!

Give us a snapshot of what have you been doing at this time, and send it to us via email to: [email protected] (if the file is too big to send, try uploading it via WeTransfer, which is a free uploading service. Simply google wetransfer.com, then select the ‘take me to free’ option. Click the blue + sign to add your files, type in the [email protected] email address into the ‘email to’ section, then type your own email address into the section below).

2) If you don’t have acess to a camera phone or tablet, then you can send us a piece of writing, telling us about your time in lockdown, your thoughts and feelings about it, and how you have spent your time. Alternatively, you can draw us a picture of your experience, either what you have been doing, the view from your window or a rainbow for NHS and key workers.

You can send your written or drawn response via email or post it to us at 95 Southwark Park Road, SE16 3TY (please bear in mind the building is closed, and this post will be collected by a single member of staff who is checking in on the building during this period).

Store Cupboard Recipes!

Chilli Con Carne (with a vegetarian option too)

This is an easy and healthy meal to make, that keeps well in the fridge and freezer too. One top tip is to try adding one square of dark chocolate to the pot- it sounds a bit whacky but tastes delicious... Buon appetite!

Ingredients:1 tbsp olive oil1 onion, diced (red or white onion is fine)2 mixed peppers, diced500g beef mince (to make a vegetarian version, use more beans instead or use Quorn mince)1 tsp hot chilli powder1 tsp ground cumin½ tsp smoked paprika1 tbsp tomato purée400g tin chopped tomatoes400g tin kidney beans, drained (or use kidney beans in chilli sauce and don’t drain)1 beef stock cube (to make a vegetarian version, swap for a veg stock cube)1 tsp Worcestershire sauce or Marmite A portion of rice or whichever grain you like to serve

MethodIn a large frying pan, heat the oil and fry the onion and peppers on a low heat for 5 minutes or until softened. Add the beef mince (or Quorn if making a veggie version), break up and brown for 5 minutes. Add the chilli powder, cumin, paprika, tomato puree plus salt and pepper and mix until well combined. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant.Add the tomatoes, kidney beans, stock cube and Worcestershire sauce (or Marmite) and mix well. Fill the tomato tin with water and add to the pan, mix well and bring to the boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook uncovered for 1 hour, adding a little extra water if the mixture gets too dry.Once the chilli is cooked, serve with rice, soured cream and grated cheese.

Store Cupboard Recipes!

Stir Fry (with a vegetarian option too)

Are you wanting a quick and easy meal? Do you have some ingredients that you don’t know what to do with? Make a stir fry! You can switch up any of the ingredients to match your taste and cupboard supplies.

Ingredients:500g vegetables such as carrots, baby corn, broccoli, mushrooms, courgettes, red peppers, cabbage or pak choi1 tbsp oil1 garlic clove, crushed1cm fresh ginger, grated1½ tbsp soy sauce2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce (optional)1 tbsp peanut butter (optional)200g cooked prawns, salmon or chicken breast (shredded)200g egg noodles, cooked (these are simply cooked in boiling water, like pasta) or use rice if you prefer.

MethodFinely chop or slice the vegetables into pieces roughly the same size. Slice the carrots diagonally, slice the baby corn, cut the broccoli into small florets, then slice the stem, and finely slice the peppers, cabbage or pak choi. If using any meat or fish, cook this first until piping hot and cooked through and put to the side. Heat the oil in a large frying pan or wok, then fry the garlic and ginger for 1 min.Add the veg and toss to coat. Fry for 2-3 mins, then add the soy sauce and chilli sauce, if using, and mix well. Cook for 2-3 mins more until the veg is tender. Stir in the prawns, salmon or chicken and heat through. Serve over the noodles.
