Accessing your YHC email

•http://email.yhc.edu/

•Need YHC email account information

•All YHC passwords must be changed every 90 days!

•Check email regularly!

What if I need technical help with my account?

Send an email to [email protected] from your YHC email address or call 706-379-5212 during business hours.

*Free Office 365 download for all students – link is in the Moodle orientation.

Where can I check my schedule?

•Grades – Official Midterm and Final course grades•“Grades”“Unofficial Transcript”

What is my course calendar of holidays?

•Online courses run for 8 weeks straight without holidays. You will need to plan ahead to take a day off. (exception for Fall Thanksgiving break)

•YHC Courses at your high school –follow the high school holiday and snow-closings schedule. Fall semester ends December 13.

•Classes on the YHC campus – follow the YHC schedule of holidays

How do I access/get my textbook?

•Online classes – digital available in Moodle.

•YHC classes at your high school – books delivered to your school.

•On-campus class books –pick up at the bookstore.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING AND

RETURNING ALL PHYSICAL BOOKS

How do I get funding for my YHEC course?

•https://www.gafutures.org/

•Every semester for EVERY college you attend.

•Students need to get this done now!

NOTE: classes on campus require a $100 parking fee

What if I need academic support?

•Your Instructor – ask your instructor for help if you need it

• Tutoring - available through the Academic Success Center706-379-5200 or see Moodle.

• Student Disabilities Services - YHC will provide accommodations for students registered with Student Disability Services. NOTE: 504 plans and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that are active in high school do not

cross-apply to Young Harris classes.

What if I am absent?

•EMAIL YOUR INSTRUCTOR!! (or talk to them in person if you know in advance)

•Check your syllabus for policies

•You MUST attend your final exam

What if I need to do additional research and need access to more academic resources for my class?

What happens after I take a college class?

•YHC transcripts – email [email protected] to have them sent to prospective colleges

•High school grades – each school interprets grades differently. Check with your high school

•Hope GPA – if you get a B or C, you get 0.5 grade bump in HOPE GPA.

•No need to re-apply- you are already a YHC student
