Uniform
• White polo t-shirt or shirt, with or without school logo.
• Black, grey or navy, trousers, shorts or skirt.
• No jeans or tracksuit bottoms please.• Black pumps to be worn indoors.
• Jewellery, small stud earrings only.
Expectations of your child
• To come to school on time with a readiness to learn.
• To be organised: return homework on time, to bring their PE kits, reading books, to look after their own and school property.
• We are encouraging responsibility and independence.

Curriculum Coverage
• Maths, Read, Write Inc/ Literacy, are taught daily.
• Guided reading• Science, PE, Computing and PSHCE are
taught weekly.• Other curriculum subjects such as
History, Geography, RE, Music, Art and DT will be taught on a rotational basis and all objectives will be covered.

Formal Assessments
• Children who were unsuccessful in the Year 1 Phonics Assessment will resit this test in June 2015.
• SATs: Reading, Writing and Maths will be assessed in May 2015.
Positive Behaviour Management
• Throughout school from Nursery to Year 6 the teachers use a good to be green system.
• House points System and stickers.• Children are rewarded on a Friday with Friday
activities.• Each class has 2 toys, 1 is for using good manners and
the other is for good work. These are given out daily.• The Merit box will be given on a weekly basis to a
child who has shown excellent behaviour and effort in all areas of school life.
• The children who are always good will be invited to a tea party with a senior member of staff.
PE
• Monday and Wednesday sessions.• Indoor kit: plain white t-shirt, plain navy,
grey or black shorts.• Outdoor kit: plain white t-shirt, plain navy,
grey or black tracksuit and suitable trainers.• Long hair must be tied back and ear rings
removed or covered with plasters provided by parents or carers.
• Letters will be sent home if children come without kit 3 times.

Homework will be set on a Friday to be returned on Tuesday.

These are things the children are almost able to do independently and consistently.
How can I support my child?
• Clear communication between home and school.
• Encourage them to take pride and responsibility for their work and belongings.
• Listen to your child read and read with them.• Support them to complete their homework.• Anything to help them achieve their mental
maths targets.
School Council
• The children will be nominating themselves to become a school councillor and the class will vote one child from each class to represent Year 2.
After school activities
• Dazzle dance – Monday
• Football – Tuesday and Wednesday
