1. Some people are writing information only and so are missing the important aspects of writing at university- interpretation, evaluation, highlighting significance.

2. When discussing indigenous housing a lot of things need to be mentioned. The writer also highlighted specific problems of recent decades.

(This example is unacceptable because it is too general. It needs to say what ‘things’ in particular need to be mentioned. Then the writer should take 1-2 of these ‘things’ and talk about them in detail)

Feedback cont3. Some people wrote a whole paragraph without referring to their source!!!! Not even one reference.

4. Angela Pitts explains the steps that is created by the Aboriginal Housing Company.

5. The writer Paul Memmott is trying to highlight the cultural issue in our modern society which is really important to address.

Example of the week:

As we march into modernisation and development in 21st century, the community is generally moving towards a higher standard of living. However, while this occurs, the urban aboriginal communities get more complex with a range of socio-economic problems... Hence it is of the utmost importance that BE professionals consider indigenous housing projects. One of these considerations ...is the need to have a safe, affordable and open residential precinct, which at the same time caters for the celebration of the traditional aspects of aboriginal culture (Pitt 2008). By having such an open residential precinct as proposed by Cracknell and Lonergan, the indigenous people will have the right to access many common amenities within the precinct. Apart from that... In this way, the premium quality ‘mixed- use development’ will increase the commercial and residential densities around the precinct in Redfern (Pitts 2008, p.2). Also to have the indigenous people participating in the planning process is vital. This is because having them reclaiming the right to plan their own communities may have powerful political, economic social, and environmentally sustainable consequences as well (Pitts 2008).
