• Students select 4 electives, in their order of preference.

• The schedule is created by the selections of the students, therefore we cannot guarantee that a student will receive their preference for electives.

• Middle School Counselors meet individually with 8th graders to select courses based on teacher recommendations and student elective choices.

• Students are issued an Annual Review Form, which is to be signed by the student and the parent. This form is due back in the Guidance Office by February 15, 2019.

• The high school offers lunch periods 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.

• Students may or may not have lunch with their current friends.

• We do not change lunch periods, and our students do make new friends.

• Students have until June, when course verification letters are mailed, to make final decisions on their courses.

• Students may not make changes to their schedules after June.

• Students meet with HS Counselors in May, and at Freshman Orientation in August.

• Freshmen receive their schedules from their new counselor at Freshman Orientation.

Key Points for high school students:• Teachers make recommendations for students in

December. • High School Counselors meet with students in groups in

January and February to go over graduation requirements and scheduling procedure.

• Students are issued a High School Curriculum Guide and asked to draft a sample schedule with elective choices.

• Students are then seen individually by Guidance Counselors and are asked to choose courses for next year. They are issued an Annual Review Form, which is to be signed by the student and the parent.

Vocational Education• Students who seek in-depth study of a

particular vocational/occupational subject may choose from the areas listed on page 36 of the Curriculum Guide.

• Students must interview with the Director of Guidance and attend a mandatory visit prior to being approved for a vocational program.

• Students must be entering their junior year, demonstrate good attendance and be on track for graduation.

• The deadline to apply for a Vocational Education Program is March 1, 2019.
