Welcome to Visalia CRC!
We’re glad you have joined us! If you are a guest please stop by our
Information Booth in the foyer for information on our church and
ministries. This morning Pastor Tom Dykstra will be preaching from
the book of John. Join us this evening at “DeGroot Lake” for worship
beginning at 5:00. Pastor Joel will lead us in worship and prayer and
we will also be celebrating Professions of Faith and baptisms.
Nursery is available during the services for children up to 2 years old. The
nursery is located off the northeast corner of the courtyard.
Children’s Worship is available for children ages 3-5 (not in K). They will be
dismissed during the morning services for their own time of singing,
praying and Bible stories. Parents can pick up their children immediately
after the service in rooms 4B/5B of the Classroom Building.
Sunday School is on summer break and will resume in the fall.
Large print bulletins and lyrics are available at the Information Booth
for all songs not in the provided hymnals.

Tonight during our lake service we will witness the Profession of Faith of Angie Martinez, Michael Watson and Melissa Murphy and the baptisms of Erica Martinez, Krystal Watson and John Rodgers.
Ivan Vander Steen, brother of Betty Van Essen, was diagnosed with lymphoma. The cancer has metastasized in his bone marrow and brain. He started chemo therapy at Stanford this week. Please pray for God’s healing strength and grace.
Rosemary VanGroningen underwent surgery and is home recovering. She is waiting for test results. Please keep Cornie, Rosemary and her family in your prayers.
We wanted to say ‘thank you’ to the whole church for your commitment to raising covenant children. We are very thankful for your interactions with Sebastian and Sadie over the years. Community is a big part of a child’s foundation for success and we appreciate all of your positive influences. I hope that we will be a Godly influence in your children’s lives as well. Used Treasurers (A Quality Thrift Store) 232 S. K St., Tulare Ph. 684-8919. Please donate all your unwanted items to us. Anything, plus the kitchen sink. The drop off shed at CVC Middle School is accessible Monday through Thursday from 7:00am to 1:00pm during summer vacation.
The Warehouse is seeking non-perishable food donations. They have extended their office hours and are blessing more people with food items every week. There is a collection can in the foyer for you to fill up!
Trinity United Reformed Church will celebrate its 25th Anniversary on Sunday, June 7, 2015. You are invited to join them for a special worship service at 9:30am. The congregation’s former pastor, Rev. Carl Klompien, will preach at the 6:00pm service. This evening service will include a video, reflecting on God’s faithfulness, and will be followed by a light luncheon. For more information, please call the church office at 636-2540.
Popular Christian author, TV personality and speaker, Jen Hatmaker, is coming to Visalia to speak at a women’s conference February 19-20, 2016. Sponsored by Visalia CRC, this conference will be sure to engage you, inspire you, make you laugh and encourage fellowship with other women. Put this on your calendar, ladies, because you definitely will not want to miss it! 1st bag (green) - General Fund: Funds the ministries of our
congregation.
2nd bag (red) - CVC Tuition Assistance – This fund provides
tuition assistance to families of our church who need monetary
assistance with tuition costs.

Announcements This evening we will have our Lake Service. Worship begins at 5:00pm and hamburgers will be served at 6:00pm at the DeGroot Lake (2575 Grangeville Blvd., Hanford). Those who attend may enjoy the lake afterwards as well.
Ivan Santoso, a student at Calvin Seminary will begin a ten-week internship with us beginning next Tuesday, June 2. Ivan comes to us from Indonesia and has recently completed his second year of seminary. Aaron and Amy Van Dyk and their family have opened their apartment for Ivan to live. Ivan will be introduced to our church's ministries and we look forward to his active participation. Take the initiative and invite him over for a meal or coffee.
Church Campout 2015! You still have time to sign up for the campout (June 12-14). Today is the last day to make reservations. If you have any questions please contact Mary DeVries at (559) 936-4041. Campers who have already signed up will find packets in your church mailboxes. Please check dates signed up.
Young Adult Taco Tuesday On May 26, Young Adults (18-23) are invited to Taco Tuesday at the Hamar’s house (4597 Ave 272, Visalia, CA) at 6:00 pm for a taco dinner, some devotions, and chance to reconnect with each other. Talk to Tim Keep (623-5886) if you have any questions. Future Taco Tuesdays will be on June 30 and July 28.
Youth Group Summer Camp Brochures which include Hi Camp, Junior High San Diego and High School Rehoboth are available at the information booth. Students are encouraged to turn in their application soon to avoid being put on the waiting list. Talk to Tim Keep or Kelli Hofstra if you have any questions.
CVC Tuition Assistance: For members of this church seeking financial assistance in sending their child(ren) to Central Valley Christian School, please visit cvc.org and click on Financial Assistance under Admissions. Please fill out the application online and submit the necessary supporting documentation to Facts Grant & Aid Assessment along with the application fee. The deadline is May 31st. Contact Doug DeGroff with questions 280-7880.
Drive thru BBQ tickets are on sale for $8.00. The proceeds will go towards the Jr. High and High School trips which are San Diego Rehoboth and Hi Camp.
Adults are needed to join the Junior High San Diego & High School Rehoboth trips in July. If interested contact Tim Keep or Kelli Hofstra.

VBS! This year’s theme is VBS Everest: It will be from 9am to noon, June 8-12th. Many volunteers are needed. You can sign up on the bulletin board in the foyer. Any questions contact Patricia Jacobsma (679-1126) or Cynthia Cottingham (553-5815). There will be a meeting for all volunteers between services May 31 in the Fellowship Hall.
Registration for VBS is open! Fill out the form on our church website to register your child.
Scholarships are available to those attending a Christian College for the 2015-2016 school year. If you’ve received a scholarship in the past, you need to reapply. Applications are available in the church office. The deadline is September 1.
Worship Service Media Did you miss last week? Looking to share a message with a friend? Remember DVD copies of every morning service are available to be checked out in the library. Also, sermons are posted on our website VISALIACRC.COM each week. If you need to keep, or gift a service copy, please sign up at the sound booth to request your copy.
Looking for a way to stay in God’s word this summer? Join us as we read “Letters from Paul: a chronological reading of Acts and the Epistles of Paul”. Beginning June 1, 2015 read from your own Bible, at home, for 10 weeks (5 passages/week) and read Paul’s letters in the order they were written, within the historical context of the book of Acts.
