Third Grade Daily Schedule
• 7:30-7:50 Early Morning Activities• 7:50-8:20 WIN- MAP, math small groups • 8:20-9:35 Math• 9:40-10:30 Specials• 10:30-11:30 Reading/Daily Five• 11:36-12:06 Lunch/Read Aloud• 12:06-12:40 Small Group/Daily Five• 12:40-1:15 Language Arts Block• 1:15-1:30 Recess• 1:30-2:30 Science/Social Studies• 2:30-2:40 Dismissal
Homework • Homework is assigned daily Monday
through Thursday. It will be written in the agenda book.
• Homework will be reviewed at the start of each school day.
• Math HW will be given daily• Students should read daily- Reading Log will be
checked on Friday morning (Read 100 minutes per week)
• Get Agenda Signed- Friday, signature checked on Monday morning.
Grading Policy
• Four 9-Week grading periods
• Progress reports:– 3rd Week for students
struggling academically
– 6th Week for all students
ConferencesConference Period: 9:40-10:30
Parent-Teacher conferences will take place in the Fall and Spring
November 3rd, 4th (Early Dismissal)February 23rd, 24th - Student Led Conference
Other conferences will be held as needed and/or requested

NEISD Curriculum is aligned with the
TEKS – Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills
Students will take STARR
(State of Texas Assessments of
Academic Readiness) Reading and Math
Test..
School Hours• First bell @ 7:30 a.m.• Tardy bell @ 7:40 a.m.
Please make sure your child arrives at school on time. Learning begins the moment they enter the classroom.
• Pack up for dismissal @2:30 pm
• Dismissal @2:40 pm
Absences and Transportation Notes
• Please send a doctor and/or parent note with your child when they return to school.
• If your child will be going home a different way please send a note stating the change.
• Please be sure your child has their bus tag every day.
We need you!(To volunteer!)
• Must have a DPS CLEARANCE on file to volunteer (this includes fieldtrips!)
• Visit the NEISD website to complete
Homework for Parents! There will be many
forms to fill out as we begin the year, both from the school and PTA.
Please return these forms as soon as possible.
