THE STORY OF YOUR BIRTH:
When I was three days past my due date, I started having contractions in the middle of the
night. Unlike my first two births, these contractions became consistent (every ten minutes)
right away. I woke up Harrison and he called Papa to come stay with the big kids while I
called my doctor to see if I should go in. Our doctor said we could head to the hospital. My
contractions continued to be about every ten minutes apart on the car ride and for the next
five hours. They were not too intense, but I did need to pause to breathe through them. I
was shocked when the doctor checked me upon our arrival at the hospital and I was
already at an 8! She stripped my membranes and then things got intense. After about an
hour of hard labor, I was ready to push. Since James was born in two pushes, I figured I
was just about done. However, I didn't know that you were a whole two pounds bigger
than your brother was! Pushing was very difficult. After about 25 minutes, your head was
born and I heard everyone in the room comment on what a big head it was! A little bit
later, you were out and laid on my chest. I went from screaming in pain to crying tears of
joy! There you were, my precious little boy who I had hoped and prayed for and waited so
many months to meet!
