Delivery Access A spa can be delivered either flat, or in the vertical position on a delivery cart, as long as there is sufficient clearance and a firm base on which to roll the cart. You can locate the dimensions of your spa on the spa specifications guide within this manual. Please contact your Pacific Spa dealer to find the height and width added by the delivery cart, which the dealer will use to deliver your new spa so that you may determine whether it will fit through the intended delivery route. Prior to delivery, check if the intended delivery pathway has sufficient overhead and width clearance. Check all gates, gas meters, electric meters and A/C units. Check low roof eaves, overhanging branches, and rain gutters. Is the path clear? Move away branches, doghouses, firewood, etc.

Delivery Access Please note that it may be necessary to allow for additional overhead clearance if the spa is to be rolled up an incline or moved up a short flight of stairs. If there is a 90-degree turn, can it be cleared? Keep in mind that the spa must remain on the delivery cart (if a cart is being used) at all times while being moved. It may therefore be necessary to remove a gate or partially dismantle a fence in order to provide an unobstructed passageway. If the spa must be removed from the delivery cart in order to go over a wall, or because the entry is too narrow, a crane will be required. Don’t panic, the use of a crane is common practice to avoid injury to your Pacific Spas dealer’s personnel and/or damage to your property. For a charge, a crane can be parked in your driveway, and a licensed and insured operator will lift your spa over the house and place it as close to the installation site as possible. Your Pacific Spas dealer can supervise Crane installations. Please note that if your delivery does require the use of a crane, you will probably be required to pay for its services upon completion of the delivery.

Site Selection

Your Pacific Spa is totally self-contained and portable. You can place it just about anywhere you wish; on a patio, deck, rooftop or even directly on the ground. Regardless of your choice of location, the spa should always be placed on a firm, level, well-drained base. When properly installed, the base of the spa will rest flat on the supporting surface. Failure to do so can cause the spa to distort, collapse, crack, or otherwise damage the spa shell or skirt.

ANY DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE SPA RESTING ON AN UNEVEN SURFACE WILL NOT BE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY.

When considering an installation site, always allow for easy access to your equipment. The installation site should also allow enough room to completely remove and store the spa cover during use.

CAUTION: DO NOT INSTALL YOUR SPA WITHIN 10' OF OVERHEAD POWER LINES.

Site Selection If you are considering placing the spa on an elevated deck, platform, or indoors, we recommend that you consult a structural engineer or contractor prior to installation. Make sure the spa is positioned so that access to the equipment compartment and all side panels will not be blocked. Be certain that your installation will meet all city and local safety codes and requirements. INSIDE LOCATION Although your Pacific Spa has been designed to be operated outdoors during all seasons, some people choose to locate their unit indoors. Special precautions must be observed when putting your spa indoors, specifically in a heated room or solarium.

Proper ventilation The room must be properly vented to allow moisture and excess heat to escape. Moisture: Using your spa for 15 – 20 minutes gives off the same moisture/condensation as a 15 – 20 minute shower, so a proper bathroom fan should be installed. Heat: It is also very important to allow proper ventilation to prevent the heat generated by the spa equipment to become trapped in the spa area as this will lead to excess water temperatures. This could potentially cause premature equipment failure. The equipment cabinet should be vented if installed indoors, or in any area where the ambient temperature is elevated to keep the equipment from overheating.

Site Preparation Your Pacific Spa has been engineered for installation on any firm level surface. While a concrete slab is the best for long-term use, other solid foundations are acceptable. Other suggestions include Pea Gravel or crushed rock, railroad ties, or pre-cast stepping-stones. As a homeowner, it is your responsibility to provide a suitable, level foundation for your spa since most delivery crews are not equipped to level or prepare sites.

Keep in mind that placing the spa on grass or dirt may increase the amount of debris that is inadvertently brought into the spa water on users’ feet. It is important to note that structural damage resulting from incorrect placement on an inadequate foundation is not covered under the spa’s structural warranty. Note: Your Pacific Spas dealer will advise you of the total amperage draw for your spa so

that this can be communicated to the electrician (if this is not the dealer) who will be preparing the electrical connection to the spa so that the appropriate GFCI/breaker can be installed. The maximum amperage draw for the spa is listed on the metal ownership plate attached to the base of the spa.

Site Preparation Pacific Spas are pressure tested for leaks at the factory. However before doing a permanent installation, such as cementing it into the ground or installing it in a room, we recommend running the spa with water to ensure that there are no leaks and that the equipment is working properly. Caution: If your spa is to be mounted below ground level, ensure there is sufficient drainage for rainwater runoff and equipment access. Outdoor Ground Level Installation It is critical that the spa have a solid foundation for support. We recommend placing patio stones or concrete slabs underneath, spaced out evenly. The stones should be at least two inches thick and twelve inches square. Even with stones in place, the spa can possibly settle and become unlevel, and may require re-leveling over time.

Deck Installation You must know the deck’s maximum load capacity to be certain your deck can support your spa. Consult a qualified building contractor or structural engineer. To find the weight of your spa, refer to the Spa Specification chart. Indoor/Basement Installation Flooring materials must provide a good grip when wet. Proper drainage is essential to prevent a build-up of water around the spa. A floor drain is recommended. An architect can help to determine if more ventilation must be installed in the room. Your Pacific Spas Dealer can help you with local information such as zoning regulations and building codes. If the installation is to be below ground, always water test the installation prior to permanently enclosing it to ensure that no leaks are present.
