STEP 1: Adding New Employees

This step remains the same as in the old system. Managers login to

www.tireindustry.org and click the TIA Online Manager link and follow the steps from

there.

An email gets sent to the Shop Manager when a new Learner is created with the login

info (can still be printed at the Add/Maintain Employees screen).

Logins will work within two hours of being created

Test Scores will still only come over at midnight each day

STEP 2: Accessing the University - Learner

The TIA Online University is located at www.tiauniversity.com and the login screen will

come up right away.

Once the Learner is logged in, the dashboard will list the courses that still need to be taken.

There is a box to check to show any courses that have been Completed. They click the Launch

button to begin the course.

STEP 2: Accessing the University – Learner (continued)

Under the Courses tab at the top, a Learner can view their transcript.

Under Learning Path tab they find My Assigned Training (which lists all courses whether

complete or not).

It will say “Complete” next to the ones that are finished.

STEP 2: Accessing the University – Shop/Regional Manager

Shop/Regional Managers also have their courses listed on their Dashboard, but they also

have the ability to approve Skills Demonstration Forms and run Reports.

When a Learner passes the exam, an email will be sent to the Shop/Regional Manager

alerting him/her to approve the Skills Demonstration Form. The Blue Bell in the top right

corner will list how many RECENT Skills Forms are waiting. Once this list is viewed, they

disappear from the Blue Bell.

To view and approve ALL Skills Demonstration Forms, click on the Courses tab and then

on Course Approvals.

Select View next to the Skills Form you want to Approve.

STEP 2: Accessing the University – Shop/Regional Manager (cont.)

Regional Managers have an extra drop down box so they can view all skills forms from all their

shops – or they can choose one shop by selecting the name of the Shop Manager from that

location.

You can also sort your list by Pending, Approved, Not Applicable or No Longer Employed.

STEP 3: Approving Skills Demonstration Form – Shop/Regional Manager

When the Skills Demonstration Form appears, the Shop/Regional Manager will choose

Approved form the Status Dropdown menu in the bottom left corner. And then they need to

click the Save button in the bottom right corner. Once it is approved, the Skills Form will

disappear from the Pending list and the Learner will show as Complete.

There are 3 choices when viewing a skills form:

Approved – The technician has demonstrated the ability to perform the listed skills. Once approved, he/she will show as Complete.

Not Applicable – Used for sales/admin people. This will remove the Skills Form from the Pending list, but will not show the person as Complete.

No Longer Employed – Used to remove a terminated employee from list of Pending Skills, but will not show as Complete. If rehired, he/she can be switched to Pending or Approved when applicable.

Running Reports

By clicking on the Reports tab, you’ll be taken to a list of reports which work the same way as

the old ones. The easiest and most useful one to run is the Courses Report. It shows everyone

at every location and what they have completed.

Choose the Date Range (defaults to 1/1/2012 through current day), Course(s) and Complete,

Incomplete, or In Progress.

Complete – means they passed the test and skills is approved

Incomplete – means they passed the test but skills need approval

In Progress – means they’ve been assigned a login. If a date is listed, they began on that

day.

Regional Managers can click the + sign next to their Region to select a specific shop, or

they can leave it closed and it will pull all their shops.

The report defaults to Active Users. Click the Include Inactive Users button to show all

techs that have been trained.

Choose up to 5 courses by holding the Ctrl key down while making selections.

Hit the Submit button for the report. Or you can Export it to Excel or PDF.
