Blessings in Odd Places When is the last time we had a perfect day? Nothing went wrong all day. We didn’t spill anything; we didn’t have anything go wrong. No bills came in the mail. We just don’t have days where nothing is wrong. Most days are a mix of good and bad. When we pray to God, we expect he will fix everything and make it a perfect day. That doesn’t happen because God is blessing us, not trying to make life easy for us. He will give us blessings, but it is not all about us. Even if one good thing happens, there will still be other things in our day that go wrong. When Jesus healed a lame person, he didn’t fix them dinner and pay their rent. He blessed them with healing, but they still had other issues they had to deal with daily. Our life is a mix of good and frustrating. There are no perfect days. If we wait for the perfect day to happen, we will miss the blessings of God. God blesses in the middle of real life. We must learn to see God in everyday life. For the blessed person, it is the card in the mail that tells of appreciation that lifts our spirit. However, there were also three bills in the same mailbox. We hardly notice the bills because of the joy the card brought. The unblessed person sees the bills as the primary mail with a card that the person probably didn’t mean. Was the card chosen for the words or was it just the picture on the front. They can’t see or realize a blessing because of their focus on the difficulties of life. What do we consider a blessing? Is a blessing getting a million dollars on which we must pay taxes? A blessing may be cool weather after a long hot summer. It may be rain in the desert. Could we see a blessing if God gave one? If we can see his glory and the beauty of his creation, we have a chance at seeing the blessing God gives. We sing about blue skies and rainbows, but do we feel blessed when we see them? Flowers grow all around us. Sunset and sunrise still happen every day, and sometimes they are spectacular. Walking in green pastures and being led by quiet waters is still a blessing from God even if it comes in the city park. For now, God blesses us in this world. There is a time coming when he will bless us in his world. Until then, we will be amazed at sunsets, and praise him for his mercy. --Terry LTC Meetings CHORUS: Today-- Sun., Dec. 1st in the Annex after worship SONG LEADING: Today--in the Annex after worship FILM & MEDIA: Wed., Dec. 4th, 6 p.m. Room 104 LTC ACCAPELLA VIDEO: This Wed., Nov. 27th Room 104 BIBLE BOWL: Study Sat., Dec. 7th, 7 p.m. @ the Kerley’s

Welcome New Grand Babies!Congratulations to Chris & Cathy Erno on the birth of a grandson! Little Beckett Dawson arrived on Monday afternoon weighing 8 lbs. 6 ozs. and was 21” long. Proud parents are former Mesa members, Drew & Megan Parks. Grandma and Grandpa left yesterday to be with them for Thanksgiving.

Robin & Camille Verdugo also welcomed a granddaughter on Nov. 14th--little Paxton Rae was born to their daughter, Annabell, in TX. Camille has been there this past week taking good care of mom and baby.

News from Ken & JeanYour prayers and funds are being put to good use. Preached to a full house in Nikom, Chiang Mai Northern Thailand last Sunday. Started English classes Tuesday with 13 government auditors on the 28th floor of the Payathai build-ing, 10 minute walk from the Somprasong 4 building but 30 minutes by taxi (keeping Jean in a/c, still hot and humid here in November). Thursday had another class with 8 auditors plus started a one on one class with their direc-tor. Our sister Gratdae arranges the classes, has a master’s in accounting, and now we have her boss and director in our classes. Gratdae is married to Bhee, who is one of the three preachers at Somprasong 4. He finished Sunset and they are one awesome couple who treat us like their grandparents.

Keeping all of you in our prayers.Ken & Jean

11/24 Class in the 4Sixteen Room Upstairs11/27 Pie Church12/06 First Friday Game Night

This Coming Wednesday Evening November 27th

Bring your favorite pie and join the Mesa family for a time of giving thanks and praising God! We will have a short devotional in the Fellowship Hall--led by our very own AIM student, Landon Ubrig! Following the devotional, there will be a time of pie and fellowship.

Adopt-a-Family Mesa StyleAnnette Campbell has worked with the staff of Lowell Elementary to identify 4 fami-lies from our immediate area that need assistance for their family for Christmas. From completed forms, we will be attempting to provide a pair of pants, a shirt, a jacket, shoes and socks and one “wish” item for each family member. These items have been broken down onto cards so that they can be distributed to those who are willing and able to add a few items to their shopping list! Here is how this will work:

• Pick up a card on Wednesday at the pie fellowship or next Sunday at the Wel-come Center. We will keep a copy and give you a copy of the items to purchase.

• Purchase the items on the card.• Wrap or gift bag these items and attach your copy of the card to the outside of

the gift--if you have more than one package either duplicate your card and attach to both or put the items together in some fashion that the card can be attached.

• Return these to the office workroom by Sunday, December 15th.• Watch for details on how we will join together to deliver these to our special

neighbors--on Sunday evening, December 22nd.

**Note: if you prefer to make a donation to this and have some-one else actually do the shopping, please make checks payable to Mesa Church of Christ and indicate “adopt a family” in the notation section.

Church Family this is My 2nd Request! Our 4 & 5 year old children need YOU. We only have 3 serving, at the moment, and need 8 at minimum. There will be a sign-up sheet in the foyer this Sunday. Please help us build the Bible foun-dation for our next generation of the Church!

Thank You!Manos de Esperanza wants to thank everyone who filled a hygiene bag for the coming trip to El Salvador. Those who receive them are blessed to have these items. We will be visiting all our students in January. There love for the Mesa church family is amazing as you are examples of Christ. --Curtis Allen

Office ClosedThe office will be closed on Thursday and Friday of this week for the Thanksgiv-ing holiday!
