Goals of the programmecomplete list can be found at:
http://www.fysik.su.se/english/student/programmes/masters/physics/
Good knowledge and understanding in physics- foundations- broad knowledge: many areas- much deeper understanding of certain fields
[choose where you want to deepen your knowledge]- insight in what “Research and Development” means- knowlegde of advanced working methods:
experimental techniques, statistics, simulations, computing and mathematical methods
Final Master Project - Critical, organised, independent
Become a professional- Ready to tackle real life problem in industry - Start a PhD

Total master programme = 120 credits
Three optionsCourses 90 credits + Final project 30 creditsCourses 75 credits + Final project 45 creditsCourses 60 credits + Final project 60 credits
The number of credits is related to the project.
For some projects only longer 45 or even 60 will be possible.
Good to know as early as possible what you will do!
Depends also on your taste!
If you are very interested in hands-on a long project involving work in the lab with a research group might be for you!

• Accelerator physics
• Cosmology and particle astrophysics
• Advanced particle physics
• Introduction to quantum information and quantum computation
• Nanoscale technology
• Quantum optics
• Relativistic quantum mechanics, …..
And any other course is possible as well, not just advanced courses, one canfor eg. study additional math courses or additional programming courses.
BUT: To start the master project one needs to have 45hp of advanced physics courses.

To think about Some courses are given only every second year.
Some courses require another course as prerequisite.
Ideas about what you want to do after the master degree?
Ideas about a Master thesis project?
Talk to the future thesis supervisor, can affect your choice of courses
Plan early on what you will do in the first and second year,
including the project!
