Roundhouse Old-Time 2-8-0 Consolidations bring the romance oflate 19th- and early 20th-century railroading to your N Scale lay-out. These ready-to-run locomotives are now available in five newroadnames for added variety.

Locos in the latest release feature a newly designed pilot complete with a standard N Scale coupler—perfect for double-heading or switching. The smooth-running mechanism features apowerful, five-pole skew-wound motor mounted in the tender, andflangeless center drivers to allow operation on sharp curves.Details include separate handrails, bell and whistle details, a work-ing headlight, and diamond smokestacks on selected roadnames.

Since the 1880s, the busiest firehouses in the city haveprotected the central business district and industrial areas.Taller buildings in these areas made the hook and laddertruck a necessity.

Stations built to house these large rigs had to be longerthan those in other parts of town. Fire Co. No. 4 is one ofthese, with second-story living quarters and a tall hosedrying tower. It also features opening wood doors for pre-1970s scenes installed, with roll-top doors for modernscenes included.

Many of these firehouses still serve today, typically housingan engine company or ambulance. Some have been preservedas museums, or remodeled into offices, shops and privatehomes.

Based on a typical early 1900s design, Fire Co. No. 4 isright at home with factories, railroad facilities or commercialbuildings. Also ideal as a display model, it’s deep enough to handle most ladder trucks. Realistic decals are provided forcustomizing.
