IT WOULD DIFFICULT TO ARGUE WITH THE VALUE OF

EDUCATION YET…For every 100 high school students in the United States:

• Only 67 will finish high school in 4 years

• Only 38 will go to college

• Only 18 will earn associate degrees in 3 years or bachelor’s degrees in 6 years

SO LET’S STARTING PLANNING!MAYBE THIS

ISN’T FUNNY BUT IT DOES ILLUSTRATE MY POINT. COLLEGE IS A PLAN!

SOME THINGS TO THINK ABOUT REGARDING ACT/SAT

ACT TEST: a criterion-referenced test measuring aptitude or learned material & compares the tester to the testACT scoring= +1 if correct, 0 if incorrectNo penalty for guessingAIMS is an example of a criterion-referenced test

SAT TEST: a norm referenced test measuring general critical reasoning & compares the testers to peersSAT scoring= +1 if correct, -1/4 if incorrect multiple

choice answer & 0 if incorrect student produced answer

Might not want to guessStanford 9 & Terra Nova’s are norm-referenced tests
