•BCS-IRSG European Conference in IR
– ECIR 2011 Dublin
– Very well run and successful conference
– Excellent number of submissions & quality
- 45 papers accepted from 223 papers submitted (rate 20% - 62% students of those accepted were students)
- 17 Short papers accepted from 48 papers (rate 35%)
- 24 Posters, 6 Demonstrations from 64 submitted (rate 46%)
- 2 well regarded keynote speakers
– Sponsorship from: Google, MS Research, Yahoo! Research, DCU, SFI, Bing, Failte Ireland, Clarity, CNGL, Yahoo! Labs, Meet in Ireland.
– 2nd KSJ Award: Keynote speaker

–ECIR 2012 to be held in Barcelona: 1-5 April 2012
- Organised by Yahoo! Research and Universitat Pompeu Fabra
- Discussion on papers ends soon
- Notifications Shortly
–ECIR 2013
- Only one bid
- Awarded to Yandex, Moscow (1st ECIR in Eastern Europe).

– Continued to build on the theme from TLIR 2007/TLIR 2008 workshops organised by BCS IRSG.
