Throughout the Day – Arrival in BahiaVisiting bands arrive at Salvador International Airport and are transported to their Hotels.
•8:00 PM to 11:30 PMWelcome Event – Special performances by noted musicians and groups from Bahia and other regions of Brazil as well as greetings from government, corporate and non-profit sector leaders from Bahia and across the nation

•11:30 AM to 12:30 PMLunch
•1:30 PM to 4:30 PMPerformances and Workshops in Salvador’s Historic District held in conjunction with Brazilian Military Bands and other invited Wind Bands from Bahia.
•6:00 PM to 11:00 PMFarol da Barra Historic Fort & Lighthouse Concert at SunsetAll participating bands will be showcased in an outdoor performance venue which features dual stages (non-stop music) on the point of land where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Bay of All Saints. Salvador has a Weekly Jazz Jam Session (JAM NO MAM) at the Museum of Modern Art which attracts more than 1,000 people every week. Musicians from JAM NO MAM are being invited to bring their Weekly Jazz Jam Session to Farol da Barra Historic Fort & Lighthouse along with Military Bands and other Wind Bands from Bahia.
*Note: Snacks and Dinner to be provided for all participants during event.

•7:00 PM to 9:30 PMConcert Performances by Visiting Bands and Local Bands with Snacks and Dinner provided by Local Host Communities.

•9:00 AM to 1:00 PMVisiting wind ensembles, jazz bands and marching bands conclude their special, customized trips and return to Salvador•1:00 PM to 2:30 PMLunch•2:30 PM to 6:00 PMTime to Rest & Relax•7:30 PM to 10:30 PMSpecial Concert Performances by Visiting Bands in Salvador at Teatro Castro Alves (Salvador’s Premier Concert Hall) or the Auditorium at the Salvador Convention Center (which has a larger audience capacity). The focus on Thursday will be on classical/wind band music with special participation by members of Bahia’s Symphony, NEOJIBA Orchestra, Military Bands and others.

SAFETY AND IMMUNIZATIONS
Talk to your child about safety and travel Trust the staff to make every decision what is best in
the SAFETY of your child and that of the group. Good physical health to travel If you have been out of the country in last 6 months will
need, and document, yellow fever shot Schools will be separated in hotels by floors or in
different hotels. Groups will be with a chaperone at all times, especially
in ‘free time.’ Training will occur with students on all aspects of the
trip. What to expect, how to handle the unexpected, and how to travel in groups (etiquette, personal and group safety, traveling out of country.
What can I provide?•Chaperone (parent)•Instrument donation•Business Contacts for financial support of the trip•Business Contacts for financial support of instruments to be given to Brazilian Communities•Join a Fundraising Committee specifically for raising substantial funds for this trip•Promote this concept in the media, locally, regionally, and if possible nationally•Find others to take interest in this project to assist with financial and instrument donation•Assist with days leading to luggage, passport checks, getting kids on busses, etc.•Moral and Financial Support for your child to take this incredible trip

separate price• We are going to set up a blog and student ‘bloggers’• If you are a doctor or nurse I would like for you to be a
chaperone• We will have immediate care to health care at all times, but
having one of our own is comforting• For example when I took my last trip to Europe as the Jazz
Artistic Director to Europe I had one of the top heart surgeon and his wife was an ER Physician. It brought ALL of us MORE peace of mind.
• If you speak fluent Portuguese you will receive special extra consideration as a chaperone.
• We will have local translator and ‘boots on the ground’ with us 24/7 however, having one of our own again brings peace of mind
