Summer work 2010DistortionThe theme of your summer project is ‘Distortion’. This is a broad theme that can be interpreted in many different ways. To help you develop your initial ideas, attached is some starting pointing and suggested artists that you may want to look at. This is by no means an exhaustive list, but aims to introduce you to a range of genres and art movementsSummer Work – This will be presented when you return to School.Mind-Map:Produce a detailed Mind-Map on the theme ‘Distortion’. Start with a broad Mind-Map containing a lot of ways the theme can be interpreted. Develop one or more of your ideas in more detail, thinking about artists, techniques, materials and subject. Find images and artists that inspire you and add to your Mind-Map in relevant places. I want to know what your initial ideas are for developing the theme. Artist Research: Research an artist that is relevant to your ideas. Use the attached sheet to help you select a relevant artist. Produce two large studies of the artists work using appropriate materials and be prepared to explain to the class how the artist has helped to inspire your ideas. Produce three good sized observational drawing based on your chosen starting points and in response to your selected artist. Please bring the above with you on your first lesson.
