WHAT IS NSBE?


OUR MISSION:

To increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel Academically, succeed Professionally, and positively Impact the community.


Quick NSBE History

When? Founded in

1975 at Purdue University by six black engineers known as the “Chicago Six”

Why? Saw the need

for more minorities in the fields of Science, Math, and Engineering


What it is now!

One of the largest student-run organizations in the nation

Hundreds of chapters both nation-wide and internationally

Over 30,000 membersNationally governed by an executive

board of collegiate students University of Florida Chapter of the NSBE
