How can we describe the role of the holy Spirit in the Trinity?
This is a mystery we do not understand. But, as with all mysteries,
it gives us light for our lives. When two persons love one another,
they enjoy talking about their love as a bond which is in some way
different from them. They say, ‘our love is great, our love is
unique’. But in fact their love is not a thing different from
themselves. This example offers us a way of understanding the
Holy Spirit. We say that the love between the Father and the Son is
so great that it is a person: God is one God, yet there are
nevertheless three persons in God, three persons so perfectly
united that they form one.
How to get more from the Mass
Pray. The Mass is the source and summit of our lives as Catholics,
but it was never meant to carry the entire burden of our spiritual
lives. Pray, even if is just a quick “Thanks be to God” on the way
out the door. Before Mass begins, ask God to open your ears to
God’s word, your eyes to see God in the parishioners around you,
your heart to God’s message, your mouth to joyfully praise God
and profess your love.
The Holiday Season is fast approaching and therefore,
it’s time to decorate the church for Christmas. If you can help
please meet at the church on Dec. 16 at 10am or contact Judy
Brunatti at 705-746-9459.

Prepare for the day of the Lord
Third Sunday: Lighting of the pink candle We light this
candle to proclaim the coming of the light of God into our
darkness. With the coming of this light there is joy, because
Christ came to bring life and salvation to a people in darkness
and sin. God wants to turn our despair into hope, our sorrow into
joy through faith in Christ.
Prayer: O Lord, as Christmas draws near, there is a sense of
expectation in the air. Still some of us feel sad because of
sickness and sorrow in their lives. Help us to have the joy that
does note depend upon earthly happiness but upon You alone.
Help us to be filled with Your joy and to share it with a joyless
world. Amen.
“Strengthen the hands that are feeble, make firm the knees
that are weak, say to those whose hearts are frightened: Be
strong, fear not” (Isaiah 35:3-4). Help an ongoing aging
member of your family or neighbour down the street to prepare
for the season.
