Welcome to St Michael’s
Welcome to the start of our journey
together in your child’s education
St Michael’s is a 2 form entry primary school with a 52
place nursery. It has been serving the Chatham
community for 150 years
As a staff team we work hard to provide an excellent
education for all of our children within a caring and
stimulating environment
We are proud of our children and are constantly
striving to provide them with outstanding teaching and
learning both in the classroom and outside of it.
Children get off to a flying start in the early years. Staff
form strong relationships with the children and care for
them well. Children settle quickly and happily into school
routines. Teachers provide children with many interesting
activities which engage the children and promote their
learning. For example, children searched for the
gingerbread man with excitement. Staff ensured that they
explained where he was to develop their use of positional
language.Extract from the Early Years section of the
Ofsted report. November 2019

Arrangements
At the moment we can not tell you what day your child
will be starting or how the arrangements will work out
Normally we would have some “ Stay and Play”
sessions as an induction for your child but this will not
be possible this year.
However we are hoping to do some sort of induction in
late August so that you and your child can at least pop
into the unit and get a feel for it- more details will
follow
