Students enrolled in our doctoral program come from diverse backgrounds such as medicine, pharmacy, biomedical science, psychology, nursing, etc.

Safety Officers• Induct new staff and students• Provide advice on OHS issues to manage workplace risks/hazards• Report and investigate incidents/injuries/hazards• If you have an OHS issue see a Safety Officer – notice boards
First Aid Officers• Provide first aid no matter how minor the injury • Maintain and re-stock first aid kits• If you have an injury see your local First Aid Officer – notice boards
Building & Floor Wardens• Manage trial and emergency building evacuations• Inform staff and students when they need to evacuate• Easy to identify• Ensure building is clear

Emergency procedures & evacuation Dial 0-000 in an emergency
EVACUATION - in the event of a building evacuation follow the instructions given to you by the floor wardens
There will be two tones:
– On hearing the ALERT signal (an intermittent ‘beep') prepare to leave the building - secure confidential materials and valuables, collect personal belongings, shut down experiments, switch off computers, electrical appliances… etc.
– On hearing the EVACUATE signal (a ‘whooping' tone) or if instructed to do so by an emergency warden, leave the building by the nearest and safest exit route.
DO NOT USE THE LIFTS During work hours - evacuation assembly
point is in Fawkner Park
After hours - assembly point is the paved area between Burnet building and the Baker building
