Good to know…. • Monday PM – Mrs Meade on Leadership Time covering

Assistant Head duties. Covered by very experienced teacher, Mrs Morley.

• Tuesday PM – Mrs Meade out of Class for PPA time. Covered by PPA teacher Mrs Hutchinson.

• Every other week on Thursday Mrs Meade is on Leadership Time. For half day.

• Maths Homework set on Thursday to Thursday • Diaries checked everyday • Any changes in who is collecting please write in diary or

AM • Gates open 8.40 •Children come in to Early Morning Learning •Gates Close at 9.00 •Registers close at 9:00 am – unfortunately anyone arriving after this time is registered as late. •Morning Break: 10:15am – 10:30am •Lunchtime 12:00pm – 1:00pm

PM •End of the School day is 3:05pm. •Collect children from the classroom door onto playground. •Club collection – please speak to member of staff leading. Usually at playground gate.

• Please ensure that children have appropriate clothing in school for the time of year (especially coats in the Autumn and Winter months).

• Long hair should be tied back, please. • PE kits must be in school EVERY day • Please ensure that hairbands are of a sensible colour and not too large. • No wristbands or necklaces of any description for Health and Safety reasons. • If earrings are worn, they should only be small studs. Tape is needed for PE

lessons.

• All Schools are set a target of 95% attendance by Government. • Children need to be punctual to school. By missing just 10-15 minutes each

day, this adds up to days of missed learning across the School year.

• Colds, sore throats, aches and pains – should still come into school. Follow Green/Amber/Red guidance. If your child is too unwell to stay in school during school day, you will be contacted.

• If your child is sick, please let the School office know ASAP.

• Please avoid having dental/medical appointments during school time, but if

necessary please let us know in writing as soon as you can.

Learning Experiences

We follow a carefully mapped out curriculum where subjects are drawn together with meaningful links. Wherever possible we seek to plan for the children’s interests. See Map on website. PE lessons usually take place on a Wednesday and Friday, but could be taught at other times in the week. Please try to ensure PE kit it is in school at the beginning of the week. MUSIC – Clarinet. Commencing week beginning 27.09

As part of our Experience in the Summer Term , we

hope to be visiting Hindleap Warren!

The children will go for 2 days, staying over on 1

night.

They will participate in various adventurous

activities.

It will cost about £110 including coach, food ,

activities and accommodation.

Spellings

New Spelling System!

Each half term a new list of spellings will be sending home. The spellings are from the new National Curriculum and will be more centred around application in their day to day written work. Children will do a small daily test each day to give them opportunity to practise.

Children understand routine and it seems to be working now after teething problems.

Homework. • My Math is set every Thursday. • A creative homework project is set every half term • Explained to children in class • Available on Class Page of website New Learning Journals • Please ensure that you read with your child as much as possible (ideally, every night). • Journals are checked every day. • Any home-learning or messages can be written in there. • If you have written a message to us in the journal, please ask your child to show us as

soon as they come in to school. • Reading books Every Friday, the children will have opportunity to change their reading book. Mrs Dabell will supervise and hear your child read. If they need to change it sooner, they can of course change it whenever they need to. Bug Club Thank you for bearing with us! We are trying to get this sorted as soon as possible.

• Always, in the first instance, speak with your child’s class teacher. They know your child best and will do everything in their power to ensure that your child is happy with all aspects of School life.

• If you feel the problem isn’t resolved, please see senior teachers Mrs Meade, Miss Morton or Mrs Josephs – all on Leadership Team at Baldwin’s Hill.

• Following this, if there still doesn’t seem to be a resolution, please ask the office to book an appointment with Mrs Martin.

We are always looking for volunteers to help within the classroom. Please speak with Mrs Meade if you can do any volunteering. You will need a DBS check which School Office can assist with.
