•The rising and light-emitting horse in Radviliskis coat of arms, represents communication, movement, town development and its flourishing. Spreading light is the symbol of civilization in the town development.
•The current coat of arms was officially approved in 1992 by the artist L. Ramoniene.

Radviliskis is an important rail junction not only in Lithuania but in the Baltic States, too.
• Radviliskis was devastated many times by military forces, plaque and hunger in XVII–XIX c. According to historical sources there were no citizens in Radviliskis after the plaque in 1708–1710.
•Its revival did not begin until the Liepaja–Romny railroad, crossing the town, was laid in 1870 and a branch line to Daugpilis in 1873. Railway men constituted the majority of its residents.

•The wooden belfry of Radviliskis Blessed Virgin Mary church is a local architectural monument. It was built in 1878. The belfry was on fire twice. It was reconstructed in 1984.
•Composition ”The way of pain and sufferings” is made by V. Vaicekauskas, A. Dovydaitis and E. Gaubas in the memory of Lithuanian deportees, prisoners of state, who were exiled and died in Siberia. It was unveiled in 1989.

After the establishment of the independence of Lithuania incorporated German-Russian armed forces came from Latvia to Lithuania. They occupied the Northern part of Lithuania. The stone windmill of Radviliskis still reminds of a fierce battle with Bermondt troops in 1919.
There is a field stone monument to the first Lithuanian volunteers who died in the battles with Bermondt troops in the old cemetery of the town.

•In 1999 Victory goddess Nike’s sculpture by P. Mazuras was unveiled in the town centre to commemorate the eightieth anniversary of the victory against Bermondt troops.
• The bronze sculpture symbolizes nation’s freedom and victory. The sword in its hands typifies thanks and respect to those who fought for the independence of Lithuania.
•Nowadays the key events of the town and district are held by this sculpture.

•There is home for children who are under the wardship of Radviliskis municipality. There are two gymnasiums, five secondary schools, art and music schools in the town. Representatives of secondary schools develop their leadership skills at School of Democracy and Social Skills “Ateitis”.
•The Sports Center of Radviliskis District coordinates sportsmen activities. Lovers of cosmic modeling, wrestlers and chess players make our region famous.
•In the Lithuanian Vocational Rehabilitation Center in Radviliskis pupils with physical or mental handicaps are trained for various professions. The Center has ties with foreign partners, exchanges delegations of schoolchildren, pursues international projects.
•The educational system of disabled children is well developed in our region. Disabled children are trained from their childhood. Disabled youngster at the age of sixteen attend Day’s center, where they acquire work, communication and self-help skills.

Radviliskis is known for its soft beverages, timber processing, furniture and machinery production industries, sewed and
knitted men’s and ladies’ wear, and the biggest second-hand car market in Northern Lithuania. The district is also famous for
extracting peat.

The main agriculture branches are cattle, pigs, sheep breeding, cereal, sugar beets, meat and milk production.•Production rates of meat, milk, grain, and sugar beet are one of the highest in Lithuania. High quality of soil gives possibilities to plant growing and cattle breeding, deveoping of meat processing enterprises.•There are not traditional branches of agriculture and aviculture – farmers grow currents, strawberries, breed turkeys and ostriches.

of wooden Sculptures in Radviliskis Town Park, Raudondvaris, Baisogala Manor, Seduva, Daugyvene
Cultural History Museum and Preserve.

there, meeting in 2002.
They carved 12 wooden sculptures.
Radviliskis District•There is the Gothic manor palace of baron Teodoras von Ropas on the bank of the Daugyvene river in Raudondvaris. The manor was built in the beginning of the 19th c. There is a big park near the palace.
•Windmill and distillery were built in this manor in 1859. There was a picture gallery of 19th c. painters.
•Seduva Agriculture School was established in Raudondvaris manor.
•You can visit the stud and Siauliai sport aviation base in Raudondvaris.

Two places of interest in Seduva – the Church of St. Cross Discovery and the Windmill.
The Church was built in the middle of 17th c. You can find elements of baroque and renaissance architecture in the interior and exterior of the church.
The Windmill was built in the beginning of the 20th c. There is a popular café in the Windmill now.

•The palace of Baisogala Manor is one of the most famous architectural monuments in Lithuania. It’s magnitude and ornamentation has been amazing the visitors for 130 years. This manor was built in the 18–19th c. The family of Komaras owned the place. The palace is a mixture of classicism and romanticism in architecture.
•The central palace, horseflesh and coach-house, kitchen, warehouse, windmill have survived up to now. The manor park is one of the most beautiful parks in Lithuania. Various trees decorate the avenues and little park paths. There are two ponds on both sides of the main avenue. You can often see the swans swimming in these ponds.
•The Lithuanian Scientific Research Institute with an Experimental Farm for animal breeding was established in 1952 in Baisogala Manor. Various conferences, poetry festivals, concerts and exhibitions are held in the Manor.
