Lots of fun and a great

experience!

Oxford ILS Junior Summer School is a 2-week programme for students aged 14 - 17 years old. The programme consists of English classes in the morning and a cultural and social programme in the afternoon and evenings. If you want to improve your English and have a memorable experience in the beautiful city of Oxford, then this programme is for you!

My teacher was very friendly and all my lessons were extremely funny and interesting, for example, preventing an egg from getting broken or creating a website. I really enjoyed my classes. Highly recommended! Sebastian

The organization is very good.

I really like this school.

Amelia

I really enjoyed my course because it is well organized and there are very good teachers. And it’s fun! Giulia

Accommodation

All our students under the age of 18 will stay with a local English speaking family in Oxford, not too far from the School. Students will typically have a single room with a study desk. Each Homestay provider is selected to a high standard and regularly inspected by our Accommodation Team. Our homestay providers are welcoming, friendly and happy to host our students. They are DBS checked and trained to a level appropriate to their safeguarding responsibilities. Staying with a Homestay provider extends the learning experience after the School closes, as students will learn about living in Britain and British culture.

Lessons and activities

The lessons are energetic and fun, and designed around the topics relevant to young learners. They focus on language development, individual and team projects, and communication. In the afternoon and evenings our students have organized cultural and recreational activities during which they can put their English into practice as well as learn about Oxford and England.

Safety and welfare Oxford ILS has comprehensive welfare policies and procedures, and dedicated staff to create a comfortable and supportive environment for our young students. All staff, including homestay providers, are friendly, approachable, DBS checked and safeguarding trained.

Arrival To ensure a smooth transition from Oxford arrival to accommodation placement, groups of 5 or more arriving at an Oxford meeting point are greeted by a staff member of Oxford ILS. Students are then met and collected by their homestay host. For individual students arriving at a UK airport the School can arrange a taxi or meet & greet service at the chosen airport.

During the course

On the first day at School students receive a welcome pack and an induction to include: information about the School, Oxford, welfare, safety and emergency procedures. Each student will be told who to speak to if they need help or support and they will also receive an ID with a 24-hour emergency number. Through the high supervision ratio we ensure that there is at least one Oxford ILS staff member present for every 12 students. Additionally, transport will be provided after the evening activities to take the students safely into to their homestay.
