Welcome to our Values Assembly
“A value is a principlethat guides our thinking and behaviour.”
Let’s remind ourselves of all the values we
have in our Values Toolkit so far…
Respect
Understanding
Courage
Happiness
HonestyThis half term we will be exploring the value of …
Honesty means…Speaking and acting
truthfully
This month’s Values song is…
‘The Truth Song’
Honesty means…you don't say things about people
that aren't true.
You are not being honest if you make up rumours about someone or if you share
rumours someone else made up.
Honesty means…admitting to your actions, even
if you'll get in trouble.
You are not being honest if you deny you did something wrong
when you really did it.
Honesty means…you explain how a situation
really happened.
You are not being honest if you say something happened one way when it
really happened another way.
A film about ‘Honesty’
Honesty is the best policy.
Honesty is the foundation of
trust. You can’t have one
without the other.
Honest hearts produce honest
actions.
You can be honest with others, but you also need to be honest with yourself.
A conscience is that voice in your head and feeling in your
heart that tells you if something is right or wrong -even when no one is watching.
Sometimes it’s a hard to make the right decision
Our values help us to make the right choice.
Be
honestBe responsible
Be fair Be brave
Be
empathetic Be tolerant
Do you ever feel split?
If you listen to your conscience, you will make the right choice.
What happens if you have done something wrong and you are scared to
admit you did it?
Y Be brave!Y Apologise – and mean it (people will respect you for that).Y Take responsibility for what you have done and see if there is a
way to make things better. Y Most of all - learn from this experience. You may get into a little
bit of trouble, but lying will make it MUCH worse. Y People will forgive you if you are honest and don’t lie.
How does honesty do this?
Are you ALWAYS honest?
Is it ever okay not to be honest?
What could be the consequences of being dishonest?
Would you forgive someone who has been dishonest to
you?
How often does your conscience change the way
you behave?
Where can you find the courage
to be honest?
Think about what you could do to earn an ‘Honesty’ sticker this month.
Do you know the story of Pinocchio?
It’s about a puppet who wants to be a real boy…
…and how he learns to be brave and truthful.
A quiet moment of prayer or reflection...
As we reflect, think about how honestu
makes the world a better place to be.
Here in our schoolLet us be peaceful at all times.Let our rooms be full of happiness, honesty, respect and understanding for each other.Let love be in our heartsWith kindness and compassion for all.Let us rememberIn learning together, We grow together, have courage together,And succeed together.
Reflection for all of us

UNDERSTANDINGand for listening so well to our
