Media, Journalism and Publishing
MJP is a future-facing course:
It allows you to pivot between different content types, publishers, brands and organisations to create a fulfilling, international career in the content industries.
It covers everything you need to make it as a multi-platform content-creator.
We take a non-traditional approach to journalism and publishing education, that reflects the changes already happening in these industries.
All our modules include a number of guest lectures from industry professionals.
About MJPThe core of the course focuses on:● Multi-platform storytelling and content development ● Utilising industry standard software to create audio, visual and video content to suit
the needs of target audiences.
This creative output is supported by commercial knowledge, and current and historical media contexts:● Business models and media marketing● Media ethics, diversity and inclusion● Data analysis and research
What our current students say
Yasmin: My experience as a second year student
‘The course covers all aspects of Media, Journalism and Publishing, from creative writing to media law. Some are very theoretical while others are more creative like design and typography. I have chosen journalism as a pathway, and I feel like the modules are definitely preparing me to enter the industry and become a good professional.’
What our current students say
Ugne: My experience as a second year student
“My uni experience so far has been really positive - from student life to lecturers, and the friends I’ve made, who I can also bounce around assignment ideas with. The course content is really interesting and varied from writing an article for a chosen magazine/website, to making brand logos and book covers, delving deeper into media theory, and getting to know more about the law and ethics that journalists follow. All modules so far have allowed me to become a better writer, creator and student.”
