SUPPLIES REQUIRED FOR THIS GEOMETRY CLASSOne 2.0 three-ring binderFive dividers labeled: ‘Class Requirements,

Daily Activities, Bell Ringer, Investigations and Journal. Lined and plain paper ( many, many packs). One graphing calculator (TI83 Plus Calculator) or scientific calculator. Many pencils (#2). Compass, protractor, ruler (12 inch), One graph book. Items will be checked the second week of school. These items must be in class every day.

Florida End-of-Course (EOC) AssessmentsIn Spring of 2013 geometry students will be

tested by the Florida EOC Assessment Unit. This assessment will be implemented to increase students’ achievement and improve college and career readiness.

The Geometry EOC Assessment will also measure student achievement of the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards (NGSSS); You can visit the website below to get information about the next available testing dates.

GEOMETRY 2013: End of CourseHow will students take the test?• The Geometry EOC Assessment will be

delivered via a computer-based test (CBT) platform.

• Paper-based versions (regular print and braille) will be provided for students with disabilities who

require allowable accommodations, as specified in their Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) or Section

504 plans.

GEOMETRY EOC TESTINGPractice TestParents and students can check out the Geometry

EOC Assessment computer-based practice test, called an ePAT. This tool is available online at www.FLAssessments.com/ePAT. Instructions for

downloading the installer software and ePAT are also located on this site. Students are required to

participate in a practice test at their school prior to testing.

How Can You Help Your Child?Understand that TRANSITIONS are difficult - at any

ageMonitor the weekly progress of your child. Log unto parent portal; To add students to a new Parent Account you must

Tutorial websites www.khanacademy.org; See student portal for

this website. [It is free]www.brightstorm.com. This website charges

$29.50 per month. An excellent site for geometry. It will answer your posted question(s) within minutes. Students can also google several mathematics websites for assistance.

Students will complete online geometry activities, quizzes and tests on the website www.quia.com, (Students have their username and password)

Students will attend Cognitive Tutor labs on a weekly basis.
