Things I need to knowQualification• Your Awarding Body is VTCT• Main delivery of the course is over
a period of 15 weeks after which OR during which you can begin your assessments. This depends upon your experience.
• When you are ready YOU MUST REQUEST assessment
• You can appeal against an assessment you think you have achieved which has not been passed. This is called the CANDIDATE APPEAL PROCEDURE
• Appeals first go to the Internal Verifier (IQA) (Loretta Dickens & Teresa Mullin, Sarah Frettingham) then the External Verifier (EQA) from VTCT (Gerri Moore)
My AssessorsPractical Tasks in the Workplace•Anyone who is a hair assessor can observe an assessment within the Nail Framework for generic units not ‘nail’ units. Main Assessors for practical:•In Derby- Theory (EKU)Your EKU can be signed off by Jenny at MP G20/ G18/ G4/ G8 - the rest

Guided Learning Hours• The work packs as provided on
Course Sites• The practical assessments
(observations by assessors and witness testimony) listed in your log book
• A portfolio of evidence

posted here if you have missed a class and any another resources found
• Other KM Training resources and training videos including www.beauty-net.co.uk
Induction (this covers the ERR element) Initial Assessment (to identify any support needed)

• Each day attending you will be required to:– Sign in and out of the building
for health and safety and when on breaks
– Be professional– Be punctual– Be discrete with clients– Submit work on time– Record your activities for GLH
KM Salons• You may also be asked to visit
and work in the KM hairdressing salons with who we partner for training purposes. Assessments can be gained in these environments for generic units only.
• The majority of practical assessments will take place at Market Place, Derby.
• From time to time KM recruit Nail Technicians
