and download all the apps you might need when you’re there!

As an international traveler, you can’t book or purchase bus, train and

high-speed rail tickets online as you need to verify your identity to the

authorities in China. So, you’ll have to buy the tickets at the counter.

In China, they use QR code for everything — some shops don’t even

have a counter to order food from. Make sure to have a QR code scanner

app on your phone!

It’s a cashless society in China where Alipay or WeChat Pay are kings.

However, you’ll need a Chinese bank account to use it. Visa or Mastercard

cards are not accepted there too. However, you’ll be able to use UnionPay credit or debit cards.
