Special Educational Needs

“All teachers are teachers of students with ‘Special Educational Needs’. It is the class teacher’s responsibility to plan and deliver lessons that

include and are accessible to all students.”

If your child has special educational needs, any additional information will havebeen transferred over from their infant school and their new class teacher &LSA will be made aware. It is then the class teacher & LSA’s responsibility toadapt lessons to suit their needs.

Mrs Lisa King, the school’s SENDco, completes regular checks on childrenwith special educational needs and tracks their progress carefully. Anyadditional interventions will be put in place when and where necessary.

If you have any concerns about your child’s SEN, please do not hesitate to make an appointment with Mrs King via the school office.

Going for Gold!

GOLD!When children work hard, make good choices, do their best or help

others they can move up the ‘Going for Gold’ chart. When they get

to Gold they will get a certificate from Miss Richardson and it will

be shared in Celebration Assembly.

However, a verbal reminder will be given if a wrong choice is made.

Yellow: If a child makes another wrong choice their name will be

moved to a warning.

Amber: If they continue to make wrong choices, they will be moved

to Amber, where they may have to miss some of their break time or

be moved to another class to reflect on the choices they have made.

Red: This is for more serious behaviour that is not appropriate. This

can be hurting another child on purpose or using inappropriate words.

A child can also go onto red if they continue making the wrong

choice. Behaviour will be formally recorded. Miss Richardson and

parents will be informed.

September…No one knows for certain how things will be come September.

However, we remain positive and are currently planning a plan A,

things return to normal and a plan B, where bubbles are in place,

social distancing etc.

As soon as we can confirm, we will do so.

Have a lovely summer holiday!
