Spike in crime between Nov’08 and Jan’09 - 28 house breakings.
“Street Captains” for every street in Fernwood to speed up communication with residents.
Permission granted by SANPARKS to close 25 metre gap at the top of Birch Street.

Informal traders – Council printing leaflets to encourage people to give vouchers for shelters instead of money
New animal by-law to control noise level of barking dogs

Erf 49943 – 23 Boshof Avenue - province require sub-division must decrease from 9 to 7 plots (land portions +/- 1000 m3), entrance in Fernwood Ave. Second application still in process. Erf 49878 – 49 Boshof Avenue - approved underlying subdivisions into 3 portions BUT < 500m2. Still with Council.Erf 97209 – 44 Almond Street - Application for temporary departure to legalise estate agency office. Rejected, premises vacated.Integrated Zoning Scheme - Draft 4 of the IZS did not include overlay zones – “incomplete”. Objection submitted on behalf of FRA.

Kirstenbosch
FRA trying to get 2 masts now for 4+ years Vodacom Mast proposed for Kirstenbosch
Biodiversity Research Centre has been delayed by objections from nearby residents off Boundary Road/Upper Moss street since last AGM.
Objection currently before the Provincial Government where it could take several months to be sorted out.
FRA on behalf of the residents who complain frequently of poor coverage and Vodacom are in favour.

Cell Phone Coverage
Little to report Jenna Bass is FRA liaison person –
maintains contact with the CPA, as well as ensures potential for co-operation.
2 x individual legal court actions continue - no real indication of court dates.
