Swimming…

Swimming lessons are now replaced with

PE sessions in preparation for the FS

sports day on

Monday 9th February

Please note that children will need a

house coloured t-shirt for sports day

this year.

This can be ANY t-shirt

Swimming will resume on 22nd February.

Changes to the school day in Term 2

Free Flow starts at 7.40 ends at 11.30

Children are split into three smaller groups within classes to enable effective learning for circle times on 2 days a week. Group circles on all other days.

We have now implemented enrichment for each class for half an hour a week per class. This session is taken by a member of the enrichment team.

Literacy is taught each day through a book focus.

Lunch is at 11.30-12 – 00

12.00 -12.30 Story time/Music /Refection of days learning.

How do we plan? Brainstorms

• Brainstorms in team meetings • Tables called KDL charts are completed

as a class… These inform planning. How?.

• What do I Know? Beginning of each topic

• What do I want to Do? • What have I Learnt ? End of each

topic. • Teachers plan in Triads. • Partner classes personalise to suit and

incorporate the children’s ideas.
