English Courses
• English department courses
Why English???
• All colleges/universities require at least two or more English courses no matter what you major in;
• All colleges/universities require students to demonstrate that they can write, speak, and think clearly by the time they graduate;
• English departments offer a variety of courses available to students who have mastered the basics.
What English Course Do I Take?
• When you take the placement test you are assigned the appropriate English course based on your score
• If you score at EN110 and above you can take almost any English course
• Some English course have prerequisites:
Prerequisite???
• Before you take College Literature (EN111) you must successfully complete EN110 – College Composition
• Before you take Introduction To Film (EN285) you must be in EN110 and above

Here’s what I mean• EN 111 Composition and
Interpretation of Literature 3-0-3A course designed to assist the student in understanding and appreciating fiction, drama, and poetry. Stress will be placed on oral and written criticism. Prerequisite: EN 110 or EN 120, or permission of the instructor. F/S (C, N, S)
Credit and non Credit
• Credit Courses count towards your degree!
• Non credit courses do not count towards your degree!
BUT• Non credit courses count
towards financial aid
