  • • Please report in Full School Uniform by 0730 on the First Day of School (4th January 2021).

    • Students are to report directly to their respective classrooms (Located @ Level 2).

    • There will not be lessons in Week 1. Students are not required to bring their textbooks.

    • Students only need to bring a small day pack, writing materials, personal medication (if applicable) and their water bottle everyday for week 1.

    • There will not be any high elements or water activities. Most of the activities are held in the vicinity of the school.

    • All meals provided by the school during the Day Camp are Halal and do not contain seafood. Please inform your Form Teachers should you have any other Special Dietary requirements and/or Health issues.

    • All Camp fees are paid for by the School, hence we will not be collecting money from the students.

  • What is Full SBB?

    • In Secondary schools from 2024 onwards:

    Express, Normal (Academic) and Normal(Technical) labels will

    be removed.

    Students of different backgrounds and academic abilities will

    be organised in the same form class.

    How is Our School Piloting Full SBB?

    Implementing new ways of organising Sec 1 form classes

    Since the start of 2020, we have successfully organised Sec 1 Form classes

    in new ways. Students have interacted well with each other.

    • They will take a set of subjects at a common level together for lower

    secondary Art, Character & Citizenship Education, Drama, Design &

    Technology, Food & Consumer Education, Music, and Physical Education.

    • For all other subjects, they will be grouped in classes according to the level

    at which they offer each subject, i.e. Exp, N(A) or N(T).

  • Eligibility Criteria for incoming

    Sec 1 students• Sec 1 students posted to the N(A) and N(T) courses

    may be offered EL/Math/Science/MTL at a higher level, based on their PSLE subject grades.

    • Students can choose to accept or reject the offer.

    subject in Deyi Secondary. Students

  • • MOE Criteria:

    • Top 10% of PSLE cohort; or

    • Top 11-30% of PSLE cohort with:

    - A* in MTL

    - Merit in HMTL.

    • For students who do not meet the MOE criteria, the school will be conducting an assessment. Students who are assessed to have exceptional ability in MTL and; are able to do HMTL without affecting their performance in other subjects, will be offered HMTL.

    writing skills and reading comprehension skills in week

    • MTL banded classes and HMTL student list will be

    finalised by week 3.

    Parent/Guardian) will be permitted into the school

    • Staggered entry and allocated days for each class

    • Please book a slot to buy books/uniforms in Parent Gateway (PG) by 26th Dec 2020.

    • Slots (Allocated Blocks) are available from 28th Dec to 30th Dec 2020, between 0900 to 1600 in blocks of 15 minutes.

    • Booking of slots within allocated blocks are on a first come, first served basis and will be made available for booking from 23rd Dec 2020, 1200 onwards. A separate message will be sent through Parents Gateway to facilitate the booking.

    • Due to Safe Management Measures, walk-in without booking will not be allowed. Should you face issues in booking timeslots, please contact the General Office for assistance.

    • Exchange Policy – Kindly refrain from writing your names on textbooks in the event that you require an exchange. Please approach the vendors directly, if applicable.

  • Financial Assistance Scheme

    • Pupils whose FAS applications have been approvedby their respective Primary Schools or sibling’sschools, please bring your Approval Letters to DeyiGeneral Office on the date booked on PG topurchase Books and Uniform.

    • Pupils who have yet to apply for FAS, please download the application form available on school website, and submit the form with complete supporting documents by 24th Dec 2020. (Do note that the General Office closes by 1200 on 24th Dec)

  • (a) Serious Medical Conditions - eg heart condition, kidney problems; need to submit a letter from certified doctor together with application form

    (b) Autistic Spectrum Disorder or Dyslexia- an assessment report written by relevant professional, such as a psychologist, speech and language therapist, psychiatrist or pediatrician must be attached to application. MOE will consider appeals for transfer to a school resourced to support Dyslexia / mild ASD only if that school is included as one of the student’s original choice of secondary schools.

    (c) Physical Disability – an assessment from qualified medical professional of the child’s condition and needs should be submitted.

  • Pupils who have been successful in the appeal application will receive their new school posting letters on 4 Jan 2021 and will report to the new posted school immediately.

    Pupils who are unsuccessful in their appeal would continue at their original posted secondary school

  • National Digital Literacy Programme• The NDLP was launched in March 2020 to make digital

    learning inclusive by equipping students with the digitalliteracies to be future-ready.

    • Through the NDLP, all secondary school students will owna school-prescribed personal learning device (PLD) byend 2021, Singapore Citizen students can use theirEdusave Account to pay for the PLD.

    • The device will be used to facilitate an environment thatencourages personalised learning.

    • Deyi will be on board in March 2021 (End of Term 1).

  • National Digital Literacy Programme• The cost of the device bundle can be paid using your child’s

    Edusave account, after setting aside provision for paymentof second-tier miscellaneous fees.

    • To ensure the affordability of devices, there was a one-timeEdusave top-up of $200 in April 2020 to support thepurchase of the device. This is on top of the annual $290credited into the Edusave account for Secondary Schoolstudents.

    • For students on MOE-FAS, subsidies are available even ifthere is insufficient Edusave balance. The cash out-of-pocketwill be $0.

  • School-based Health and

    Dental Services

    • The Health Promotion Board (HPB)’s School Health andDental Services will be conducting its annual healthscreening, immunisation and dental services for your child.These services ensure the protection of your child’s healthand early detection of health issues.

    • Your consent is required to ensure your child receives theseimportant health and dental services that are provided.

    • A Parents Gateway message with more details andinstructions has been sent on 22nd Dec 2020. Please do lookout for it and access the portal accordingly.

  • • If your child exhibits interest and passion for Art or Music, they canapply for Art Elective Programme (AEP) or Music ElectiveProgramme (MEP) in the following centres:

    High School)

    • Successful applicants will attend weekly lessons in the afternoonat the AEP/MEP Centres. In view of the extended Art/Musiccurriculum, AEP/MEP students will not be offered Design andTechnology (D&T) and Food and Consumer Education (FCE) at theLower Secondary level to ensure that their overall curriculum loadis manageable.

  • APPROVED HAIRSTYLES FOR BOYS

    • Hair must be short and neat; back with a slope.

    • Hair must not cover the ear and the forehead.

    • Hair must not be tinted, dyed or gelled.

    • No punky or spiky hairstyle is allowed.

    • No ear sticks are allowed.

  • APPROVED HAIRSTYLES FOR GIRLS

    • Hair must not be tinted, dyed or gelled.

    • Fringes are not to touch the eyebrows.

    • Hair that is longer than the upper end of the collar must be

    tied up neatly.

    • Wear only black or navy blue ribbons/hair band/hair clips.

    • Only one pair of circular ear studs that is no more than 0.5 cm

    in diameter is allowed. Small ear sticks (only transparent

    ones) are allowed.

  • • All handphones must be switched off

    during lessons at ALL TIMES. (minimize distractions)
