3:00 pm – 4:00 pm BREAkouT SESSIonSA. How to Become a Flippin’ Facilitator: Angie Shuler, kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology sponsored by Supercuts: Grand Canyon 6-7The educators of the future should be in the classroom now. Generation Z has been identified and they are in your class-rooms. They learn and interact differently from any previous generation. The vast majority of today’s educators were taught in a totally different way than the current generation learns. In the past, the educator was a provider of content. Now, you should be a facilitator of learning. Being a facilitator moves from instruction and control (THEN) to participation and interaction (NOW). This class will teach you the techniques you need to learn flipping. Flipping allows you to transfer the learning by allowing the student to utilize technology and learn in a way YOU never did. Light the fuse and let them use what, to them, is so natural. Technology in the classroom is only good if the educator is prepared - not scared. They are not going away but your old ways of teaching should. Are you ready? Can you do a flip?
