About School District 72
• School District 72 extends north to Saywardand south to Oyster River. The district also includes the outer islands of Read, Cortes, and Quadra Islands. The area has a combined population of approximately 60,000 residents with 46,000 residents within the city of Campbell River
• 5500 Students• 17 Schools• 2 High Schools – Carihi Secondary
and Timberline Secondary• Grades 9-12• Semester system. Intake into the two
high schools is accepted in September (Semester 1) and the end of January (Semester 2).

Outdoor Discoveries 9
• Integrated grade 9 program (combining English, Social Studies, Documentary Film Making and Physical Education).
• February to June, Outdoor Discoveries students have opportunities to explore coastal British Columbia in all its natural and human complexity.
• Application Required. Cost: $350
• Course offered at Timberline Secondary
Stream to Sea 11• Three Units: Forests, Streams, and Marine biology.
• Dual credit course so you not only get a Biology 11 credit, but also an elective credit. (2 Courses together)
• Semester 2 at Timberline Secondary
Outdoor Education 9-12
• Carihi Secondary —Semester 2 (possibly Semester 1)• The Outdoor Education class is a combination of Outdoor
Education and Recreation PE. The course will include numerous outdoor activities such as: hiking, indoor rock climbing, skating, Disc Golf etc…
• There may be extra costs for this course.
